Q: I’ve been using my iPod for 6 months now and every time I want to record a new CD, the following window keeps popping up: ‘The owner’s iPod cannot be updated because one or more of the iTunes playlists selected to update no longer exists’. I have no idea what to do. Do I have to unselect music from the iTunes playlist? If so, how do I do this?

- Kelly

A: It sounds like the iPod is set to update only selected playlists. To check and see if this is the case, go into the iPod’s preferences (when the iPod is connected, click it to select it, then click the iPod icon at the bottom of the iTunes window). If Only Update Selected Playlists is checked, you’ll have to look and see if one of the selected playlists no longer exists. If so, uncheck it. iTunes should straighten itself out after that.
