Q: I subscribe to a few podcasts. Most are daily news items that I delete after listening, but there are a few (e.g., “In Our Time”) that I would like to keep in my library for repeated listening. I looked at the Podcast settings in iTunes, but it appears that the “Delete after playing” option is not available on a podcast-by-podcast basis. Is there any way to automatically delete some podcasts and keep others?

A: Absolutely. In the latest versions of iTunes, the behavior is changed a bit. Simply right-click on any podcast, and select “Do not auto delete.”

This will prevent the podcast’s episodes from disappearing, regardless of your settings in iTunes’ Podcast Settings panel.
