OS X Lion: Serious Wi-Fi Disconnect Problems for Macs, And Solutions?
Had similar disconnect problems which Apple Support couldn’t solve. Finally I solved by going to System Preferences and opened Energy Saver and moved the sleep cursor for pc from 15 minutesto 1 hour. No problems since

OS X Lion: Serious Wi-Fi Disconnect Problems for Macs, And Solutions?
Most recent suggestion did not work:-( But thanks.
Candidly, between this issue and the nuking of the Office apps support, I can’t think of anything nice to say about Apple. I can think about a whole lot of expletives, though. A return to the arrogance of the First Jobs Regime?

Two Proposed Solutions to Snow Leopard Crash Problems on Macs
Neither worked for me, so I went to the Genius Bar at y local Apple store. Here’s what we did:
(user)—> Library—-> Caches
Empty entire contents of Caches folder, restart and then empty trash.
(best if your app is not a Startup item).
Combining with a delete of your entire Preferences folder (not just for Photoshop) might be a good idea too.
Worked like a dream.

OS X Lion: Serious Wi-Fi Disconnect Problems for Macs, And Solutions?
Had the same problem. The problem is not the OS, the problem is the router probably has old firmware.
SOLUTION:
Click the antenna symbol.
Open Network Preferences.
Select your wi fi connection then click Advanced (lower right).
Select TCP/IP from the list at the top.
Under Configure IPv6.
Change from Automatic to Link-Local only.
Click Ok.
Then click Apply.
Done. Enjoy!

OS X Lion: Serious Wi-Fi Disconnect Problems for Macs, And Solutions?
Same here on my iMac late 2010. After the upgrade from SL to Lion 10.7.2 my Wi-Fi connection keeps dropping.
I’ve tried clearing the list of Wi-Fi hotspots and also changing the router password with no success. Apple please fix it!!

An Open Letter to Jon Bon Jovi On What's Really "Killing The Music Business"
A well written blog. Thankyou! I would just like to add that with all the software, hardware, replicas, and studios in a box currently on the market, the music industry has well and truly passed the point of saturation.
Forget about downloading album tracks… these days the kids can create their own album made up of second hand loops and sound samples and rave to their friends about how talented they are. The only thing that will survive the entertainment revolution is real talent. You can’t buy that - yet!

I just want to know when the event will be held when Apple announces the iPad 3. Speculations aside, I am ready to buy an iPad and I am waiting for the iPad 3. So I want it to be announced and on the market by March.

Early Comparative Insights on iPad Screen Protectors
I have had to replace my iPad due to a fault and got given a brand new one. Problem is I have lost the screen cover that I had put on it. I bought mine in Thailand (Japanese made) and it was absolutely perfect! I am trying to get the name of it so I can buy again. It cost like £10 but I think worth every penny.

OS X Lion: Serious Wi-Fi Disconnect Problems for Macs, And Solutions?
Finally got this solved! My problem was the DNS settings for my at&t u-verse modem (Motorola NVG510). I spent an hour and 45 minutes on the phone with various people at u-verse support to convince them to give me an alternate address, and the Tier II tech finally admitted it was a known issue with them and OSX. It’s been about 22 hours, and Safari has not timed out once, all my images load, and my Internet seems faster than ever. So if at&t is your ISP, and you’re having connection issues with your Mac using Lion, call at&t and get a new DNS address.

OS X Lion: Serious Wi-Fi Disconnect Problems for Macs, And Solutions?
Tried number 5. Seemed to work, but then left computer alone for a bit and put it to sleep. Upon awakening problem returned. I installed Lino on my November ‘10 27” mac about 3 months ago, but the problem is only recently occurring, and it is getting worse. Why might this be the case? (iTouch and new Macbook Air with Lion not affected) So frustrating on my most expensive machine :(

How the new iPod touch does FaceTime
I have had an Ipod 4g for a while. Just bought two for the kids at xmas. They can facetime each other, however I cannot contact either one, it just says it is ringing, but neither of the newer 4g’s receive any sort of notification to indicate that I am calling. All on the same network here at home. Any thoughts?

Is there a fix for the Broadcom version? I have a Mid2010 macbook pro.

OS X Lion: Serious Wi-Fi Disconnect Problems for Macs, And Solutions?
Nonix (#53) is correct. This is all tied to driver issue. This also affects some Broadcom version of drivers (especially when upgraded to 10.7 and up. Apple says there is no issue but there is. The issue comes around when connecting to a WPA2 or WPA2Enterprise connection. Change the drivers back down and you’ll be alright.

just to correct mistake from previous post its
cmd & r when you start your Mac to boot to the
recovery HD

OS X Lion: Serious Wi-Fi Disconnect Problems for Macs, And Solutions?
i have came across this issue on multiple macs
I have found if you boot to the recovery HD
by holding down cmd & opt when you
first turn on your Mac and you connect to
your wifi network from there then press the
power button for 2 seconds no longer to put
the Mac to sleep then press the power button
again for 2 second to turn it back on and
wifi reconnects with no issue that it is a settings
issue with the current Os configuration which
can be generally be fixed by clicking the apple in
the upper left selecting restart
then opening finder then clicking
in the go from the menu bar
then open computer then
open Macintosh Hd then
open library then open preferences
then open system configuration
then click on edit then
click on select all then click on file then
click on move to trash then
restart your Mac then select the wifi symbol
in the upper right hand corner and select your
network from the drop down menu basically
this troubleshooting step removes all your
network settings and forces the Mac to reload
a fresh set of all your network settings
ps if you are unable to connect in the recovery
environment you may need to connect
via Ethernet and install the recovery environment
update reset the PRAM reset the SMC try a different
network make sure you are WPA network
(Mac does not work well with WEP)
encryption or worst case Senario
have an authorized technician
check for harware faults
