At first glance, Element Case's Joule II ($110) strikes us an improvement over its cool but overpriced predecessor, although it's clearly still being sold at a premium. The tube-shaped aluminum stand is lined with fake suede to protect the body of any generation iPad. A pipe screws into a single hole on back of the holder and can be adjusted for different viewing angles. As before, audio is channeled through an opening in the front, now a series of small perforations matching the look of iPad speaker grilles. Joule II now includes a zippered carrying case.
