Beautiful? No. But car audio company Kicker's new iKICK iK500 ($350) actually packs some serious audio hardware, plus the user customization tools necessary to make something of it. Inside iK500 are two 3/4" tweeters, two 5.1" woofers, and a square 6" reflex subwoofer, as well as a central iPod dock, illuminated digital volume knob, and an LCD screen that toggles between current volume, bass, and treble levels as the knob is depressed and spun. A simple ten-button remote control is included, as well. Kicker says that it's designed iK500 to be the "loudest" iPod speaker out there, with "astounding output and no distortion." We'll let you know what we discover when we put it through its paces.
