The new iPod features a transparent OLED screen ensconced in a solid block of acrylic. Advances in flash storage and thin-cell battery tech allow all other components to be housed behind the clickwheel. The clickwheel itself, with its own battery and 3 gigs of flash, is removable for use as a Shuffle-type player. Wireless file transfer, bluetooth headphones, and cordless battery charging eliminate the need for any openings in the casing, allowing this iteration to be both elegant and rugged.
