gtkpod is a platform independent GUI for Apple's iPod using GTK2. It allows you to upload songs and playlists to your iPod. It supports ID3 tag editing, multiple charsets for ID3 tags, detects duplicate songs, allows offline modification of the database with later synchronisation, and more.

GUIPod is a KDE/Qt based graphical front-end for managing songs and playlists on an Apple iPod(TM). It uses the tools from the gnupod project developed by Adrian Ulrich. The iPod uses an internal format called iTunes for storing the song information. GNUPod, on the other had stores the song information in an easy to understand XML format, and provides a set of tools to add and delete songs. GNUPod also provides a way of converting to and from the iTunesDB format.

myPod is designed to manage your mp3 clips, create playlists and synchronize them with an iPod. myPod is implemented in Java, so its platform independent and should run on most platforms where you can get your iPod mounted as filesystem.

Requirements: Java Runtime version 1.4 or higher. To synchronize playlists with an iPod you need an iPod (!) mounted as filesystem.

This script syncs a local directory with your iPod. If the directory is larger than the space on your iPod you can sync this larger directory with a master playlist. As alternative you can sync just a bunch of playlists.
