AgileBits 1Password 5

With yesterday’s official release of OS X Yosemite, there’s now a plethora of app updates showing up to fit with the new UI and take advantage Yosemite’s new features, including one of our staple apps, AgileBits 1Password 5 ($35). It’s been a year filled with Internet security issues, making the need for good security apps all the more apparent, and this latest update has a refreshed design that fits in with Yosemite, including adding support for the new Dark Mode.

Since Apple has transitioned everything to iCloud Drive, if you’ve made the jump to iOS 8 on your iPhone or iPad, this update is needed to give you iCloud sync capabilities, and with Apple’s new iCloud back-end they promise to be faster and more robust than before. While 1Password uses strong encryption throughout, the Wi-FI sync feature is still in here too for those who would rather not trust their secure data to the cloud, and adds performance improvements, the ability to sync attachments between your Mac and iOS devices, and best of all can now be triggered automatically whenever your devices are on the same network, providing for a more seamless experience.
