On top of the traditional 750GB, 7,200 hard drive platter, Seagate built-in an 8GB solid state drive. The drive has an algorithm that moves frequently accessed information to the flash memory for faster access. With your OS on the SSD, boot times are next to nothing, and as long as you’re willing to open up your MacBook Pro, installation is really easy. Sure, Momentus XT is more expensive than traditional drives, but for what you’re getting, it’s well worth it.
