With over 3,100 votes from iLounge readers, our most recent poll—“Do you still have your first iPod?” has ended. Readers could choose from two positive responses or five negative, with a separate option for those who have never owned an iPod.

With exactly 50% of the vote, the majority of readers said they still have their first iPod, and it still works. Another 12% said they still have it, but it is no longer operational, while 11% said they sold their first model to upgrade to a newer iPod. 9% said they gave it to a friend or family member, 7% said they got rid of their first after it stopped working, and an unfortunate 4% said their first iPod ended up lost or stolen. Only 1% said they sold their first iPod to upgrade to an iPhone, while 5% said they have never owned an iPod. Thanks for all your votes!

I would love to see apple truly innovate here and offer a la carte channels or a pick your own channel package.

Sort of like dishnetwork had some a la carte until the large entertainment companis leaned on em.

Give veiweres a real choice and watch the people flock to your service.

Let some of these lame networks die - let the market place decide other than these 99 channel garbage packages.

I’m afraid there’s a vote option missing. “I do not own an HDTV, so can not even USE an AppleTV.”

Till Apple lets the AppleTV work with my old dinosaur of a tv or I can make myself spend the money on an HDTV, the AppleTV is a non-issue for me. Sigh.

Thank goodness Sony had the sense to let the PS3 be compatible with us tube-tv owners. >.<

If I’m going to pay $30 a month for this “subscription,” then I might as well just buy basic cable (or keep my basic cable) which only runs about $30-40 a month depending on where you live anyway.  Plus, many networks put their hit shows “on demand” with the Comcasts of the world.  I understand the upside for Apple here, but seriously, this is just plain stupid.  Between Hulu and full episode players online, why do I want to pay $30 a month to have the privelidge of being able to carry a few TV shows around with me?
