i’ve been thinking about getting a couple of these cases (for me and my sister) ever since they were first available on ebay under the name “case-ari”. i eventually decided against it though after reading the ilounge review (which pointed out that the leather used to make these cases is “noticeably lower (in) quality” in comparison to the leather used to make vaja cases). Vaja cases are way out of my price range though, so i’m going to have to consider buying a case-mate again if i don’t win one.

Does anyone own a case-mate / case-ari case and vaja case that’s not affiliated with either company? what do you think about the leather quality on the case-mates?

slum, I bought one of these for my 30GB video and I love it.  The vaja’s are nice, but they are way too expensive plus they take forever to make and then send to you. I read the review on iLounge and that dude was way too harsh. The quality on the case-mate cases is just as good and they are less than half the price.

I copied and pasted the email address, subject and body from Outlook to Gmail with no problem.

Honestly, I don’t expect them to get hundreds of thousands of entrants.

Yeah, I agree with Jake, I don’t think that loads of people are gonna enter this contest, and even if there were around 1,000 entrants, there would be a 1 in 10 chance of winning… Too bad that there isnt a post showing how many people actually entered. And there are also those cheating idiots that will try to enter multiple times.

I don’t understand why iLounge would give away a bunch of cases which they give a ‘B-’ grade to in their reviews, citing it as “having insufficient protection” and “The seams are less well-finished, the leather is less precisely formed around the underlying hard shell, and though it’s described as Nappa leather, it feels like it’s of noticeably lower quality. Each Case-Mate is also a tight fit on the iPod you insert.”.  Why give them out to consumers when you yourselves don’t stand behind the product? I personally don’t get it.

If that’s true, why not give out cheaper, but higher-quality cases? I would rather that you guys give away 25 iSkin Duos than 100 Case-Mates which you guys obviously don’t like.

thats why they give you 100 so you can double up for more protection or mabe when the seams rip out of one put another one on and if you dont like it go buy a nice one cmon now its not like your going to win out of all the people that sign up for these things

You can’t put two of these cases on top of one another, only the iSkin can do that. And about “its not like your going to win out of all the people that sign up for these things”....crazier things HAVE happened.

Man...it’s like 5 hours until midnight, and they still haven’t posted them. I cancelled everything that I was planning to do today and just sat at my PC, looking at the iLounge site and watching reruns of Seinfeld. Been crawling up the walls since 6:00am, where I woke up in hopes that they posted the winners early. But still, I wait.

Looks like a lot of people entered the giveaway if its taking them this long to sort through the names. Ive been checking the site all day in hopes of seeing my name posted :p
