Three Product Winners Announced

Prize: Rain Design iWoofer

Most Accurate Description? I’ll try.

It is:
- an iPod dock with speakers and lights
- seen from below
- facing right (in the picture)
- approximately 5 inches in diameter
- iPod’s signature white and silver colors
- meant to showcase the iPod, like many of Rain’s other products are designed to showcase Apple products

It has:
- four legs to elevate it about 1 inch.
- four blue LEDs to create a cool under-glow effect
- some similarities to JBL’s OnStage, except better
- a port on the back (left in picture) for computer-to-iPod cable
- volume controls

It does not have:
- bluetooth
- a remote

It’s a simple iPod docking/speaker station that allows the iPod to play music through the built-in speakers, sync to a computer, and charge its battery. The iPod sits on top, allowing full access to its menus and music. And the ambient blue glow from beneath gives it a sleek futuristic look.

By jays1n on 12.20.05 at 03:09 PM

Its a speaker system for the ipod viewed from the underneath. The blue light is projected onto whatever surface it is placed on and may dim in and out or change colors while playing music or synching with itunes. Has four metalic legs and the controls are on the left side of the image in between the 2 metalic circles which are speakers. The black center is the sub-woofer. Charges, syncs, docks, and plays the ipod.

By Adam Fenty on 12.09.05 at 12:19 AM

As the compnay mainly produces stands, it would be probable that its first product for the iPod is also a stand. It’s in the shape of a ball, and then it has four legs underneath, and you stick the iPod into the dock on top (in the middle - so it sticks up). But that’s obvious. It is also a powerful speaker system with a built-in sub-woofer. We see the air-intake on the lefthand side, and the big, dark area in the middle is the subwoofer element, probably a 6 or 8. It will be awesome, and I can’t wait to get my hands on one.

This ipod dock is not just any ordinary dock, as you can tell from every ones guesses. This iPod dock, has a motorized docking door system. Just place your iPod on the white pad, located on the side, and hidden doors will come out and wrap around the iPod docking it for you.
But thats not all this little puppy can do. Not only can this device recharge and sync your dock-able iPod, it can also use its two built in speakers to fill, your room with music. But what if you have the Apple Express Base Station with AirTunes, it will allow you to connect to your Wi Fi base station, to broad cast your music through out your house. Or if you have a pare of Bluetooth enabled headset, the base station will also connect to those for personal use.
The system has four blue LED’s that indicate the systems status; Power/charging, data syncing, audio broadcasting, and VC. VC? What the heck is VC, you may ask your self. Well with all this functionality, comes the simplicity of only one button. Thats right only ONE button, that simply turns the device on and off. But you control every function of this device via Voice Command. Just say the name of your iPod when its docked, and then speak what you want the dock to do, and it will do it.

So just when you thought that, they went to the extent of iPod technology, they make something even better.

By Nathan on 12.11.05 at 02:22 PM

To me, it looks like its the bottom of a speaker system that would be in the shape of a rain drop when you looked at it straight on. The system looks held up on four legs, which give it support to sit on a surface. An ipod, probably the new video ipod will be able to dock on the top of the rain drop, and play music through the speakers on the sides and the subwoofer on the bottom. On the side bottom of the rain drop there will be a usb port and variuos other ports such as audio and video which will allow you to connect it to any t.v. device. I think the blue lights on the bottom of the drop will flash to the beat and rhythm of the music producing an underglow affect on whatever surface the rain drop is placed.

I think it is a speaker system, we are looking at it from below. The four protrusions are legs, the indentations on the left side are the speakers and controls. Those blue lights look great, it’s quite beautiful.

By Tyler Hawkins on 12.08.05 at 11:55 AM

I am guessing that this is a stand and external speaker system for iPods.  The speaker is roughly similar to the round HK speakers that came with the G4 desktop Macs.  The base is almost the same as the tubular metal legs that Rain uses as a computer table… just a lot smaller.

But, to give this a little added visual appeal, the speaker ring on the face lights up.  iPod light show, baby!

By Kevin on 12.08.05 at 12:03 PM

cool looking speakers!

By F. Nicholas on 12.08.05 at 12:16 PM

It looks like some kind of speaker system to me. There are four metal legs, and we’re looking at the object from below. The blue lights will create a cool alien spaceship-esque glow onto the table or surface onto which the object is placed. In fact, i think the whole thing is designed to be quite resemblant of a spaceship.

There appear to be two silverly shapes on the left edge which are probably speakers. Anyway… looks pretty cool!

By James on 12.08.05 at 12:20 PM

It’s a speaker system for the iPod with a universal dock. There is Dock connector out on the back, and it charges & syncs your music while casting a cool blue light.

By WldKt on 12.08.05 at 12:42 PM

Its a Speaker/Docking system that may be wireless

By Jason Silverio on 12.08.05 at 12:53 PM

It looks like it might be a stand / dock for your ipod with built in speakers, four legs that suspend it off of where ever you place it and possibly lights that move along with the musical beat of what ever you’re playing on your ipod.

By Daniel Wodrig on 12.08.05 at 12:57 PM

A Speaker system that lets you dock your ipod that has legs to postion it in any way you want. The neons lights up to the music you are listening to.

By Doc Evils on 12.08.05 at 01:01 PM

It combines a docking station, a remote control, and an interface to your TV. Designed for the video iPod, it will allow you to share your downloaded Pixar short films easily with everyone in the family! (NOTE: will also play non-Pixar content, if you insist smile

By P Miller on 12.08.05 at 01:07 PM

iPOD speaker system with a subwoofer in the middle and tweeters on the outside. The lights flash in time to the music coming from the iPOD.

By Ross Smith on 12.08.05 at 01:10 PM

It’s an iPod dock, seen from below. To the left are the USB/Firewire plugs. The on/off light switch is there too.
The concept matches nicely with their iMac desk and swivel base, also for iMacs and cinema monitors.
It’s a table/desktop unit.

By Ramón Burgos-Ruíz on 12.08.05 at 01:16 PM

A partly spherical iPod dock with four stylized legs, seen from below.  To the rear (left, in the image) are the dock connector inputs, plus ‘triggers’ on either side that mechanically release the iPod from the dock.  LEDs provide a blue halo when the iPod is docked.  It will be called the iEscape, for its resemblance to an escape pod.

By Adam Preble on 12.08.05 at 01:43 PM

first of all, the photo is taken of the bottom of the object.  those four things that look like antennae, are the legs or feet.  it works as a dock for the ipod and has no other functions other than a regular dock, except that it has a cool blue light.

By Hahn Cho on 12.08.05 at 01:45 PM

It appears that an iPod would somehow(maybe through the hole on the side) be placed in the black circular area and spin. Most likely the lights will illuminate to the music.

By Nick Brennan on 12.08.05 at 01:49 PM

It appears to be an all in one ipod stereo solution similar to a bose sound dock but with much much better looks.  I believe the photo is from the underside showing a low +or midrange speaker/sub with.  It also looks as if there is controls located on the front for volume and treb/bass as well as what looks like an ipod dock that fuctions similar to a cassette deck.  I would be that this functions similar to a dedicated home theater style tuner with a built in speaker and supporting additional satelite speakers.  But that is just speculation

By DJ Jahn on 12.08.05 at 02:10 PM

Embodiment of the Halo Effect.

By R Richards on 12.08.05 at 02:12 PM

Regarding my previous comment I misstated that a dock functioned as a cassette deck but is instead a bass port.  I think that it is a speaker system that can accept an iPod input similar stylig to JBL invader(?) speakers.

By DJ Jahn on 12.08.05 at 02:14 PM

speakers yes....but more
i think it is an ambient lighting design as well that adjusts and moves with your music

By gabriel kassel on 12.08.05 at 02:56 PM

It is a charging dock + speaker system. The mechanical legs can be controlled by a wireless remote, with the iPod fitting snugly so it won’t fall out when it’s moving. This is the perfect mix between iPod accessory and iPod toy.

By Mark on 12.08.05 at 03:23 PM

I think it is some sort of webcam.

By daspler1 on 12.08.05 at 03:25 PM

They are speakers, they are seen from the bottom, they seem to have a connector to sync with a pc, they charge your ipod while you are listening to your favourite music. They also feature a brand new ambient light. They surely will have a remote control, and four legs.
YOu’ll only have to put your iPod in the new universal dock and HAVE A GREAT TIME.

By dani2403 on 12.08.05 at 03:27 PM

I think it is a ipod stand with speakers that conect to the ipod. also the lights will flash in beat with the music. also it could be a dock to the computer.

By Isaac cohen on 12.08.05 at 03:48 PM

it is a speaker for your home media center (stereo tv) or for you room. it has an output to speaker system as well as the ability to produce sound via its own speakers. The picture is taken from the bottom where the four silver rounded sticks jutting out are the legs and the white tips are rubber place holders. There are only those four blue lights underneath that give the device a glow during playback - the brightness depends on the volume. On top is a dock for all iPods with dock connectors which comes with an adapter for the various models and sizes. On the left side of the image you can see two silver buttons. These buttons operate the device’s volume. In the middle of these buttong is a hole, which is where the bass comes from. The device is compatible with a remote that controls the iPod functions such as forward/back and play. The device can also be hooked up to a TV device for image and video viewing.

By DoTheChew on 12.08.05 at 03:58 PM

An iPod dock that streams the music coming through the dock connector to any stereo system that has the appropriate receiver.  It will stream any sort of media that the iPod will.

By doctormuelas on 12.08.05 at 04:35 PM

It’the iFly!Simply put, it’s an iPod helicopter. Pop your baby into the included dock, and use the control panel (not shown)to fly your iPod to one of 10 user preset locations. Choose to fly it to near your computer, where the bluetooth signal between the unit and your Mac transmits your iTunes Library right to the iPod. Choose to fly your iPod to near your stereo, and the bluetooth transmits your songs right to your reciever. A bluetooth adapter for your reciever is included. Fly to your car to automatically sync with your stereo, and fly to your sidetable to turn into an alarm clock that will wake you up with your playlists! The bottom of the helicopter(as shown) emits a cool neon light, in one of 10 customizable colors! Your iFly will transform the way you use your iPod forever!

By Adam T. on 12.08.05 at 04:43 PM

it is a speaker cradle for the new ipod....

it is pictured from underneath…

it has four legs and lights surrounding the circular dock

it has usb connector from behind and lets you sync with your mac or pc…

with the built-in speaker system it will light up according to the music…

it can be called iFO..hehe

By mark pacatang on 12.08.05 at 04:49 PM

I think the item is a speaker system for the ipod with a subwoofer on the bottom, it has a dock connector port in the back as well as stereo out and IR capabilities, and of course an iPod dock on the top

By Chris Paddock on 12.08.05 at 04:51 PM

It is a speaker/dock/subwoofer for iPod with a blue light that blinks along with the music. It has for metal legs that, get this, ARE USED TO WALK AROUND THE ROOM WHILE SPEWING OUT YOUR FAVORITE TUNES! or somthin like that…

By Wash_Jones on 12.08.05 at 05:06 PM

I would say that it’s an external dock/speaker system/visualizer.  The iPod docks with the system which plays the music through the speakers, but it also doubles as a light presentation cycling through different color patterns based on the music (think fiber optic sculptures).  Of course, it will have the ability not only to show these, but to project them (both the synaesthesic light show and slideshow/video presentations).  Unlike other docks, this can be turned on its side and even wall-mounted for the presentations.  For even more fun, the device can be ceiling-mounted, and the “Rain Function” deployed where the device will stream out droplets while shining color through them in conjunction with the music, for the ultimate in dance parties.

By Whyren on 12.08.05 at 05:11 PM

What Is It? Well to me, It looks like a futuristic iPod controller that sits over the click wheel. (To allow Night Time control maybe!?). The four ‘legs’ grip the side of the iPod whilst the white ring cushions the unit on the iPod’s surface - and may also act as a ‘fingerless scroll wheel! The 4 blue lights illuminate the essential buttons on the click wheel; Menu, Back, Forward and Play/Pause. The middle represents the push button. Even though it appears bulky in the picture, it fits like a ‘skin’ over the clickwheel allowing more precision control and also a visual aid!! that’s what I think anyway!!

By Richard Corbin on 12.08.05 at 05:28 PM

This is the iNuke by Rain. Plug in the iPod and play the music and when the music ends the iNuke will explode and kill everyone in USA.

By PPT on 12.08.05 at 05:37 PM

I think we’re looking at the bottom of a new dock for the video Ipods.  A monitor or television sits on top and when you set your Ipod in you can play the videos through the attached monitor.  It will also have its own speaker system.

By Earl Doherty on 12.08.05 at 05:38 PM

I believe that the rain design product is that of a speaker system that can be plugged into a computer but can also be plugged into the wall for where ever you want speakers.

By Jay Schaul on 12.08.05 at 05:43 PM

My guess is a speaker system for the iPod which pulsates as music plays. Should charge the iPod as well as the speaker system itsself. Looks like it’s large enough to be a wall-powered set, and there seems to be a dock for the iPod on the side.

By Ben Silverstein on 12.08.05 at 05:56 PM

I think it is a picture of the bottom of a speaker with a subwoofer for the ipods from all generation and the mini plus the nano. The four things sticking out are the legs and the speaker system is in the shape of a sphere.
The lights on the bottom can either beat with the music or indicate if the speaker is on. It doesn’t have batteries. Instead it has to be plugged in at all times.

By Jonathan Keim on 12.08.05 at 06:03 PM

its an Ipod dock that hooks to your computer and is also a speaker system.

By Chris on 12.08.05 at 07:28 PM

Very nice device.
It is a docking station with all the usual bits you would expect plus the additional feature of ambient lighting that changes color depending on its perception of the type of music you are listening to. Blue for slow through to red for faster tempo.

Put it on your table and treat more than one of your senses.

By peter on 12.08.05 at 07:56 PM

I think that it’s an all-in-one package. Since Rain seems to design products that cradle apple accessories, it would be logical to assume that this is some kind of stand. It might as well end up as a charger. It seems like there is a dock connector port at the left, for syncing with the iMac/PC. The design would definately match an “Ikea” room, meaning it’s simple and beautiful. It could also end up being a speaker system which would perfectly fit it’s with it’s $139 price tag. I think I can see a gold-plated headphone jack. This feature is included in most speaker systems. The blue lights may end up flashing to the beat of the music.  It looks very nice, and from what I can see very beautiful in design.

Looks like a holder where you can control the iPod via a remote control, and when music is playing the lights start blinking with the rythm of the song. And also sends wireless audio signals to a little device that you plug into any speaker system, so you have a cleaner setup,. You can plug it in the computer to charge and update the ipod and also to the power outlet so you can charge it without moving it from the base. That’s all.

By Francisco Herrera on 12.08.05 at 08:56 PM

to expensive.

By josh on 12.08.05 at 09:32 PM

Rain Design has finally done it - they have created the Heart of Gold powered by the Infinite Improbability Drive with the iPod as the pilot!!!! Sign me up!!! Oh, and thanks for all the fish!!!!!!!

By whalebone66 on 12.08.05 at 09:42 PM

It is a stand with lights that sync to the music which is playing.

By Jeff on 12.08.05 at 10:05 PM

it is a wireless video management unit. it allows you to send video and/ or music to devices. the ipod sits in the middle of the unit and is iluminated by the blue lights that flicker and flash. and by the way did i mention its portable.

By tom on 12.08.05 at 10:12 PM

speaker system shown from below....the speakers are similar to bose’s sounddeck? and the light have the option to flash to the music, music like neon in a car can. the ipod will rest inside like in a gyroscope that’d you’d see in space camp

By nclaxman19 on 12.08.05 at 10:45 PM

I think that it’s an interactive toy with ipod connectivity. Probably looks like some sort of space age robopet or something. I’m guessing it plays music, dances, and lights up to the music.

By Tamara Hartman on 12.08.05 at 11:08 PM

You plug multiple ipods into the four sides, and the thing plays random tracks from each and displays the info in the centre black bit.

By fallsauce on 12.09.05 at 12:52 AM

It is a home speaker system. The picture is looking at it from the bottom and what you see is the main speaker with lights around it and the 4 legs of the stand and it also is a dock for your ipod to charge and sync with your computer. If it were right side up it would be a foot or so off the ground and could be considered portable.

By Edgar Torrico on 12.09.05 at 01:59 AM

I think it is a bedside alarm clock with speakers that stands on four legs like a table. You dock your iPod on top and the blue lights are on the bottom so you can set it before going to sleep and turn off the alarm in the dark if you still need to catch a few more Zs.

By Alfredo on 12.09.05 at 03:48 AM

This could only be ONE of TWO things:

•1 Either it is a spherically-ionizing Goa’ould toilette (obvious from the blue “sphincter ring") favored by non-humanoid aliens everywhere.

Or.......
•2 It’s a brand new, high-tech, light-up, whizz-bang COMPUTER STAND!

My money’s on number 2 (no pun intended).

May the farce be with you.......

By Jim Passin on 12.09.05 at 05:22 AM

That is definitely a video player for use with the Ipod Video.  Has some cool lights

By Dan Buske on 12.09.05 at 05:40 AM

looks like an external speaker, sitting on it’s side, with a neon undercoat when sitting flat on a table, and inserting the ipod in the middle of the unit, and when inserted the neon light turns on.

By jay stasonis on 12.09.05 at 05:41 AM

It looks like a cute little halloween costume for my ipod.  Ipods have feelings too and want to go trick-or-treeting with the rest of us!

By Tommi Brandt on 12.09.05 at 06:01 AM

I guess this isn’t as complex. To my mind this is a “flashing dock”, that needs obviously an energy source, to light the BACK that we are shown on the picture. There may be other features as already written, but iThink that the main function is to accompany the music you’re listening to.
Another sensible explanation is that this is a fake, to gently laugh at us ;/

Spheric Speaker system for all dockable ipods featurig two integrated speakers as wells as bass-speaker. Blue light emanating from the interior creates an UFO-like appearance. Its white compact body, which opened interior allows the subwoofer to deliver a surrounding and intense bass response, matches your iPods aura by docking it in its frontal control panel and therefore integrating it into its spherical shape. The iXXX allows synchronisation with iTunes and recharges your iPod while docked and stands on four ressistant metallic legs for more stylish placement.

By AlejandroC on 12.09.05 at 06:17 AM

It appears to be the underside of a speaker, set on 4 legs.  There are 4 lights inside to make the speaker glow to let you know it is on.  It is a new round design that is enabled to hold the ipod for you.

By Teresa Henson on 12.09.05 at 06:45 AM

its a dock station, that includes speakers and a big subwoofer. and it have remote control. beacause rain desings want you to be confortable. the blue lite is just a good looking accesorie. it have for legs. and its so simetrical because its made for a center table on a living room .

It’s a iPod speaker system/dock.
-Has metalic legs(The stand)
-The blue LED lighst pulse to the rhythem of the music.
-The black circle in the middle either shows a colorful visualization, or the mimics the ipod’s display(Song Title, Artist, The Timing of The Song, etc.
-Something that will be more succeful then the Segatoys iZ.

By Anton Jancin on 12.09.05 at 09:40 AM

Is it an Airport Express LED underlit stand?

By Roberto on 12.09.05 at 09:49 AM

This is a ipod docking station stand/speaker system with glowing color changing LED lighting system underneath that beats to the music.

I believe this also has the ability to transmit your ipod music to your home stereo as well with the included A/V ports able to play your ipod videos on your TV.

It is a 2.1 system what we are looking at is the bottom of it showing the sub while the two mid/speakers are on the sides.

By jake pacheco on 12.09.05 at 10:22 AM

It seems to be a universeral ipod docking systems that stands on 4 legs. It also has a built in speaker system, and the blue LED turn on when the ipod is docked to the center of the system. Also looks like an ipod display, when the ipod is attached the blue LED lights turn on and you can display your pictures, videos, and plays music. Similar to the iGo for the mac computers.

By Kodath on 12.09.05 at 11:05 AM

It’s an IPOD Karoke machine with speaker system and IPOD Disco ball. Plug in your ipod and throw Karoke parties while the light stream 360 around the room and the room booms with music. What will they come up with next. it go over great in Asia, they love Karoke.

By Jm on 12.09.05 at 11:56 AM

it is a dock/speaker/stand/display combo. you can see there is what looks like a dock connector and two gold rca inputs on either side.

By jason pope on 12.09.05 at 12:13 PM

This looks like it will be the newest and coolest technology to ever hit the market.  With the coolest Universal docking station for your Ipod, MP3 player, With the cool docking stand you will see a light show that will bring you back to the 70s. With this device in your home “The party will always be at your house”

By Christina Elsfelder on 12.09.05 at 12:54 PM

It is an iPod dockable speaker system. It is orb shaped and you are looking at it from the bottom where the base speaker resides. The upper/mid range speaker are on the top of the unit. The bottom portion is lighted and the lights interact with the music being played through it. The lights face the surface of what the unit is placed on thus creating indirect light for more mood oriented lighting experience. The metal legs raise the unit just well enough to resonate a good rich base sound and the legs are rubber tipped to keep the unit stationary on most surfaces.

This is a docking station/speaker system the picture is taken from the bottom. There is a usb port on the left of the unit so you can sync with you computer. im digging the blue led lights but i think i might be more than that it might use Bluetooth tech to sync your phone as well as wireless speakers.

I think its a video camera designed for the video iPod.
It looks like it combines a docking station, and an interface for your TV.
Its very cool looking; if it changes colors to the tunes of the music from the ipod that would be super cool!

By Monesia Brown on 12.09.05 at 02:14 PM

I am going to say it is a docking station with video capabilities. Either that or a really freeky retinal scanner.

This device is a multitude of things in one great package.  It is a Universal speaker dock for the iPod, which is to be placed in the center, obviously pictured from the bottom.  A very cool feature included is a sensor that “sees” any person near the dock and rotates the iPod so it faces the person for easy access.  Rain design also included a mode where the iPod’s music is muted and relaxing ambient music is played, whose intensity adjusts according to the music being played.  That’s not all!  This device also doubles as a remake of the classic Milton Bradley game “Simon.”

I believe that this product is a docking station for the iPod. In using this product, one can charge his/her iPod and send their music wirelessly to the included speakers. The product also features a clock and alarm function.

An All in one solution for your iPod is my guess. Subwoofer, 2 speakers and dock topped with LED lights which we all love. Looks sleek and eggy rasberry

it is the greatest most affordable ipod speaker/ ipod media center. it combines the blue lights every ipod peripheral needs. it has an ipod docking port to sync and charge, it also has outputs for a tv screen. it has a impressive speaker system simialerto the jbl speaker ring.  it might support direct to ipod downloads of movies and/ or tv shows it has a tivo like interface but has no monthly fee

Imagine a place, a place where you and your ipod could live in seclusion.  This “bubble” by rain design is what you have been looking for!  With a 6’ diameter, this is no ordinary lounge chair.  Loaded with speakers that cover every square inch of the bubble, live podcast-updates, and cool flashing blue lights, this is the product that is soon to be found in every ipod fanboy’s home!

By Liz on 12.09.05 at 08:18 PM

This device reminds me of the talking computer HAL....I believe it is an eye that can capture both moving and still images and audio to the ipod.....If it isnt this seems to be the next step because the new imac does it and so do most cell phones...why not on your ipod?

By uncleduck on 12.09.05 at 09:05 PM

I think it is a bottom veiw of a sub woofer the 4 things are feet and the lights simply light the floor bellow posable beat to the music kinda like the light on the bottum of the JBL craetcher 2 speakers

By henry on 12.09.05 at 09:22 PM

An anal probe, obviously found amidst the burning wreckage in Area 51.

By Tyler on 12.09.05 at 09:45 PM

I think this is some new cool iPod FM or other wireless transmitter. The iPod goes in the middle and the four things comming out are antennae for FM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or other transmission.

By Will on 12.09.05 at 10:08 PM

It must be a speaker system with lights that illuninate in various ways according to the music being played.  Kind of like a visualizer.

By Moses on 12.09.05 at 10:28 PM

This new product, after much examination appears to be a’table’ or ‘desk’. The four protrusions from the outside of circle are legs for the table/desk.  The indention on the left is possibly a dock for the ipod, a drawer, a screen to be folded up out of the main table, used to veiw video from the new ipod, or possibly a combination of all three. It may not be anything of the sort ;however, it might be a handle!
The neon colored lights probably are simply to add ‘style’ to the product, but they may pulse o the beat of the music

Now you can work and rock out where you want. The iSphere iPod stand is designed to fully integrate with your iPod so you don’t have to compromise on sound quality, aesthetics, or ease of use.  By simply dropping your iPod into the front of the iSphere, you can begin playing music the the powerful speakers cleverly hidden beneath the smooth white polycarbonate plastic.  The four aluminum legs of the iSphere ensure stability, while looking damn cool.  And the iSphere has chic beyond belief with the four cool blue lights that illuminate your musical environment.

By Danny V. on 12.10.05 at 12:09 AM

Well, I think This new mysterious product is a speaker with a docking system on the top, you could change the size of the insert for the desired ipod. You could change the color display, and make it go with the beat of the music.

By Kupan on 12.10.05 at 12:10 AM

My guess is that its a stand, for an iMac G4.

By Tony Mac on 12.10.05 at 12:50 AM

It organizes all the wires within the unit, and the lights are for show. While the stand keeps the computer off the table for better cooling.

By Tony Mac on 12.10.05 at 12:52 AM

By elgonzalo on 12.10.05 at 01:18 AM

Its a table, with a speaker that lets you dock your ipod.

By Jessica Pajimula on 12.10.05 at 01:56 AM

Looks like it is another cool innovation from Rain Design.

I would think it is going to be an award winning speaker for ipod!

It has been a while since we see chute and slick design speaker in the market for ipod. Most of them really look like speaker and I find it quite boring.... Hope my guess is correct and would want to own the slick speaker!

Visited your website and like your other products too...cool and award winning design at reasonable prices...Thumbs up!

Hope u will have more products for Apple users soon!

Your products ROCKS!

clock docking for i-pod

By Claudia Vitello on 12.10.05 at 06:03 AM

A Wi-Fi (or bluetooth) dock connection between your ipod and your mac. the bluetooth goes to the base rather then to the ipod, then the base sends the signal through a tactilec able to the ipod, which is charging. the lights change color when the transfer is done. stereo speakers are in the back of the dock as well as audio and video out.

By Adam T. on 12.10.05 at 06:44 AM

WE are viewing it from the bottom. the four things are legs. The hole on the left is where you insert your ipod. On top there could be controlls for playing songs. The music would be played through the speakers built in to the sides (next to the ipod insertation port, they’re silver)
O top of it, there could be a sheet of e-paper (electronic paper) to display the song, artist, time etc.

By krobo on 12.10.05 at 07:05 AM

This ipod accesory is a speaker system. The four things on the corners are legs. the hole in the side is a sub-woofer, and the silver rings next to it are speakers (this is the front). On the right side (back) are ports for the ipod, power, any music source. The lights are for entertainment. They flash in patterns to the beat of the music.

By krobo on 12.10.05 at 07:11 AM

What is it? Contest?
An adapter that will enable you to watch videos on an iPod.

Alarm clock function

By * S U S H I * on 12.10.05 at 09:10 AM

I think its a speaker system that lights up according to the song being played on an iPod. I think the lights will glow brighter or change colors based on the beat of the song. I think it will also be able to charge the iPod while playing the song. Looks great, whatever it is.

By Jeff Harris on 12.10.05 at 11:20 AM

It is a speaker and dock for the iPod. The lights either indicate what it is doing (charging/synching/etc) or they pulse in time to the music.
