Belkin releases Digital FM Transmitter

pic Belkin has released a new all digital FM tranimitter at Apple Store online. The Digital transmitter features a coiled cord, LCD display, FM channels 88.1Mhz to 107.9Mhz, up to 8 hours of battery life on 1 AAA battery (included) and a 3-year Belkin warranty. The Digital FM Transmitter is priced at $39.99 and Apple esitmates shipping at 2-3 weeks. The transmitter is not yet listed on Belkin’s website. The Belkin Digital FM transmitter seems to be a rebadged FM transmitter also known as Audia X and Gruv X.

Forums: Reader received 3G iTrip

picIn the forums, iLounger ‘divine’ announced with a link to several photos that he received his new 3G iTrip on September 12. “Not sure why I got it so early. Like I said in the comments, my friend just ordered 2 from Griffin and they shipped it overnight.” He also posted a link to his UPS tracking information to prove to our readers that he did in fact receive it on Sept. 12.

Belkin TuneDok for iPod Released

piciLounger Sean has informed us that Belkin has released the TuneDok to the general public and has posted information on its website. The TuneDok was the same iPod holder that was provided in the VW iPod connectivity kit for the ‘Pods Unite’ promotion, which has since expired. The iPod holder features ‘AirGrip’ technology (suction cup) for secure placement, a large and small rubber base plus adapter cup for exact fit in a cup holder, cable management system, and comes with a 3 year warranty. The TuneDok fits all iPod models and retails for $29.99.

Dension announces ice>Link for iPod

Dension, the leading manufacturer of hard disk-based car audio, announces ice>Link for iPod - the *ultimate* iPod car kit. iPod audio is routed through the CD changer port on over 80% of European market cars including Audi, BMW, Ford, Mini, Peugeot, Renault and VW as well as aftermarket Alpine, Blaupunkt, Kenwood and Sony. The killer feature is that FF/RW radio controls (and steering wheel buttons on suitably equipped vehicles) are mapped onto iPod allowing track navigation from the vehicle controls. ice>Link for iPod also charges the iPod when in the car.

Griffin iFM Shipping Update

Here’s an email that I recently received from Griffin Technology, regarding shipping news about the iFM: “While no firm date yet exists for the iFM, we estimate that we are about 80% completed with the project and will likely get it to market in November.”

pic Altec Lansing has announced the inMotion Portable iPod Speakers for iPod. The portable speaker system features a built-in docking bay for data transfer and syncronization, full-featured alarm clock that plays wake up music, headphone port, auxiliary input, MaxBass technology for deep bass response, and an on-board Class D amplifier. The portable system uses an included AC adapter or four AA batteries (not included). The inMotion Portable iPod Speakers are priced at $149.99, are available exclusively at Apple Store online, and will be in Apple retail stores beginning in November. Apple estimates shipping at 7-10 business days.                                                 
             

XtremeMac releases Premium iPod Car Charger

pic XtremeMac has released the new Premium iPod Car Charger for 3G iPods which uses Apple’s proprietary dock connector. The charger features a single LED to indicate a power connection, removable fuse for current protection, diode protection for backflow current, impact resistant shell, integrated cable strain relief on both ends and a limited lifetime warranty. It’s available now for $19.95 or bundled in the Get Connected Kit for $49.95.

New iTrip due early October

In the ongoing saga of when the new iTrip will actually ship, several iLoungers have received emails from Griffin Tech Support stating it would ship about the first or second week in October. Griffin gave no reasons for the delay.

New case from Contour Design?

iLounger Joe has sent us information and photos regarding a possible new case from Contour Design. “The new iPod case will be called the “Contour showcase for iPod” or “showcase”. It will feature a combination of hard, clear plastic and soft rubber edges, and billed as “the hard case with the soft touch.” It will cost about $40 and should be available by mid-October.”

DIY Infiniti G35 iPod Install

pic iLounger ‘kloh’ has skillfully installed an iPod dock into a center console compartment in his Infiniti G35 coupe. The dock has been permanently mounted within the compartment with a Belkin FM transmitter connected via the line out port. ‘Kloh’ notes that as soon as Blitzsafe completes the AUX kit for iPod, he’ll connect the dock directly to the car stereo’s input.

Terforma releases iSleeve for iPods

picTerforma has informed us that they have released a new type of case for iPod named iSleeve. Made of molded rubber, the iSleeve encases the iPod like an armored exoskeleton. The iSleeve features a retractable HipClip

RadTech debuts iPodsleevz

pic Christian Heber of i-Pod.de emailed information regarding a new case he discovered while attending Apple Expo Paris. RadTech debuted their new iPodsleevz for iPod. According to the photo, the cases seem to be made of a synthetic suede material and covers the face of the iPod. Christian reports that the touch wheel and buttons are functional while the iPod is in the case. iPodsleevz feature a clear screen protector, access to the top of iPod, and an access hole for the dock connector. iPodsleevz will be sold in a multitude of colors (see photo) for about $18 and are ready to ship. Note: The RadTech website has not yet been updated with iPodsleevz information.

iTrips in the UK

I’ve done some extensive searching and managed to find two UK retailers that stock iTrips. The first one is Alta Technology, and they have stock of iTrips for 1st and 2nd generation iPods. The iTrip for new 3rd generation iPods are not yet shipping. Join the email list to be notified. The second retailer is Everything iPod UK, and they have stock of iTrip for older iPods for £40. The new iTrip (albeit at £43) for new 3rd generation iPods are not yet shipping. Join the email list to be notified. Don’t forget the iTrip is illegal in the UK due to the UK Wireless Telegraphy Act of 1949. You can own one, but you can’t use it.

Belkin releases Leather Holster and Flip Case for 3G iPods

picBelkin has posted information on two new cases for use with 3G docking iPods. The Leather Holster features an open face design, swivel clip and retails for $24.99. Belkin notes the Holster ‘complements’ only 10 and 15GB iPods. The Leather Flip Case features a Velcro cover which swings out-of-the-way for docking, PVC screen protector, swivel clip and retails for $29.99. Belkin does not say, but we assume the Flip Case fits all docking iPods. iPoding notes that Apple Store online has the Leather Holster listed for $19.95.

Sendstation PocketDock Now Shipping

picI just received an email from Sendstation, makers of the PocketDock FireWire adapter. It states that preorders for the PocketDock are now shipping. The website states that shipping time to the USA and Canada is 4-7 weekdays, shipping within Europe is 1-4 weekdays and the rest of the world is 4-14 weekdays. The PocketDock costs $18.95 for a single adapter and is also available in a 3-pack for $52.95.

iSkinWorld UK offers free iShade for iSkin eXo

Smart debuts i-move car with iPod connectivity

We recently reported that Daimler Chrysler’s European Smart division will announce tomorrow the new i-move car at Apple Expo Paris featuring an iPod connectivity kit. Smart has launched a website with information (although in French) about the new i-move car and iPod Kit. As noted by MacMinute, the connectivity kit consists of a “dock, found just above the gear shift, takes advantage of the new iPod’s bottom connector and appears to be connected directly to the car’s audio system, allowing you to control volume and tracks from the head unit.”
