Pacific Rim Technologies to release new iPod hardcase

picPacific Rim Technologies, makers of cases and accessories for PDAs is about to release a new hardcase for iPod. The not-yet-named case features anodized aluminum with scratch-resistant surfaces, screen protection, neoprene lined interior, multiple attachments for use while at home, the office, gym or other sports activities, cleaning cloth, and comes with removable color inserts in cobalt blue, green, burnt orange, and silver. The case and website is set to launch October 15, and pre-ordering will be available for $49.99 with all four inserts and $39.99 with one insert of your choice. Incase Designs releases Folio for 3G iPods

picIncase Designs has released an updated Folio case for new docking iPods at the online Apple Store. The new nappa leather Folio features a front flip-lid, access to all iPod functions, suede non-scratch lining, belt or strap attachment and FireWire protection plug. Although Incase has not yet updated its website with the new case, the Apple Store has it available for $29.95 and estimated shipping is 1-2 business days.

Contour Design launches Showcase

picContour Design has announced the Showcase iPod case on its website. The new Showcase fits all 3G iPods and features a hard plastic case, clear plastic front lid, integrated shock-absorbing rubber interior, access to all iPod functions, and a removable horizontally mounted belt clip. Contour Design expects the Showcase to ship on October 20 and pre-ordering is now available for $39.95.

Fred Durst Woos Halle Berry with iPod

“According to a recent interview in GQ magazine, Durst had a crush on the Academy Award-winner before he even met her. In an effort to get her attention, Durst loaded love songs onto an Apple iPod as a gift, such as Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors” and Al B. Sure’s “Night and Day” to “impress” her.”

TechTV: The latest in digital players

James Kim of TechTV has reviewed the latest crop of digital audio players and mentions that the iPod is still “the de facto player on the market.” Kim also compiled a dollar-per-megabyte chart and the $500 iPod 40GB comes in at $.012 per megabyte.

Griffin: New iTrip Now Shipping

picToday Griffin Technology announced that the new iTrip for 3G iPods is now shipping. “The new model ($35) improves upon its predecessor with an even sleeker body style, new power saving features and a red LED light to match the new iPods red backlight perfectly.” As reported earlier, Grifffin has also officially released over 100 new international frequencies for use on original and new iTrips.

Updated: InventiveGadgets releases iPod Holder

picInventiveGadgets has emailed iLounge to inform its readers that they have “replaced Velcro with a polymer based ‘cling pad’ that holds the iPod in place without placing any foreign substance on the iPod.”

InventiveGadgets has released an iPod Holder for the car. The iPod Holder features a vertical steel stand with an angled platform, and mounts to the lower portion of the center console in your car using double-sided adhesive. The iPod is attached to the platform via adhesive Velcro dots. iPod Holder fits all iPod models, is available in black or white for $29.99, and fits most cars and SUVs. Also note that late model VW Passat owners do not need to use the adhesive mount, but can simply slide the stand into the center console.

Swiss-iTrip allows you to find radio stations in Switzerland and US for use on Griffin iTrip.

Case Closed Bags feature unique iPod cases

Griffin releases new iTrip Frequencies

Griffin Technology has released several new frequency packs for use on iTrip. The following frequencies may help you find a clear FM station in your area for optimum reception:

iTrip US Frequencies - Odd frequencies from 87.9 to 107.9.
iTrip European Frequencies - Odd and even frequencies from 88.0 to 108.0.
iTrip Frequencies - Other - Odd and even frequencies from 76.0 to 90.0.

Belkin releases Digital FM Transmitter

pic Belkin has released a new all digital FM tranimitter at Apple Store online. The Digital transmitter features a coiled cord, LCD display, FM channels 88.1Mhz to 107.9Mhz, up to 8 hours of battery life on 1 AAA battery (included) and a 3-year Belkin warranty. The Digital FM Transmitter is priced at $39.99 and Apple esitmates shipping at 2-3 weeks. The transmitter is not yet listed on Belkin’s website. The Belkin Digital FM transmitter seems to be a rebadged FM transmitter also known as Audia X and Gruv X.

Forums: Reader received 3G iTrip

picIn the forums, iLounger ‘divine’ announced with a link to several photos that he received his new 3G iTrip on September 12. “Not sure why I got it so early. Like I said in the comments, my friend just ordered 2 from Griffin and they shipped it overnight.” He also posted a link to his UPS tracking information to prove to our readers that he did in fact receive it on Sept. 12.

Belkin TuneDok for iPod Released

piciLounger Sean has informed us that Belkin has released the TuneDok to the general public and has posted information on its website. The TuneDok was the same iPod holder that was provided in the VW iPod connectivity kit for the ‘Pods Unite’ promotion, which has since expired. The iPod holder features ‘AirGrip’ technology (suction cup) for secure placement, a large and small rubber base plus adapter cup for exact fit in a cup holder, cable management system, and comes with a 3 year warranty. The TuneDok fits all iPod models and retails for $29.99.

Dension announces ice>Link for iPod

Dension, the leading manufacturer of hard disk-based car audio, announces ice>Link for iPod - the *ultimate* iPod car kit. iPod audio is routed through the CD changer port on over 80% of European market cars including Audi, BMW, Ford, Mini, Peugeot, Renault and VW as well as aftermarket Alpine, Blaupunkt, Kenwood and Sony. The killer feature is that FF/RW radio controls (and steering wheel buttons on suitably equipped vehicles) are mapped onto iPod allowing track navigation from the vehicle controls. ice>Link for iPod also charges the iPod when in the car.
