Amazon offers free iPod shuffle with 32GB touch purchase

Amazon.com is currently offering a free 1GB iPod shuffle in green, silver, purple, or blue to customers who purchase a 32GB iPod touch. The promotion, which is the first “buy one iPod, get one free” offer we’ve seen, does not appear to extend to other iPod touch models. To take advantage of the offer, customers need to add both the iPod shuffle of their choice and the 32GB iPod touch to their cart; Amazon says buyers will not be charged for the shuffle. The promotion is available for a limited time only.

Tunewear has announced the opening of the its new web site and company store. The company says the new web site will allow it to better support its customers by opening a direct channel of communication. Intended as a supplement to retail channels, the web store gives Tunewear a place to introduce new products as quickly as possible, and at the same time keep available accessories for legacy iPods, a market that grows with each new generation of iPod. Apple cuts iPod nano, Hi-Fi prices in UK

Apple has slightly lowered iPod nano and iPod Hi-Fi pricing in the UK. Apple has cut prices by £10 on all three nano models—the 1GB nano now costs £99, the 2GB model is £129 and the 4GB nano is £169. The price of the iPod HiFi was dropped from £249 to £229. Apple UK also cut £50-£100 off iMac models, and £50 off its Mac mini line.

Apple launches ‘Back to School’ iPod promo

Apple has kicked off a new “Back to School” promotion that offers students a free iPod nano after mail-in rebate. Apple said students who purchase a new Mac before September 16, 2006 are eligible to receive up to a $179 rebate to cover the educational customer price of a nano, or use toward the price of any other iPod model.

Apple offers refurb iPod minis

imageApple has added several refurbished iPod minis to its online store. Apple is currently offering first-generation 4GB minis in silver, blue, pink and green for $149. The company also has a stock of second-generation 4GB models in silver, blue and green for $159.

The second-generation mini offers 18 hours of battery life (compared to the original’s 8), color-matching icons on the device’s click wheel, and ship without a FireWire cable or AC adapter, which were both included with the first-generation model. The iPod mini was discontinued with the introduction of Apple’s iPod nano in September 2005.

Monster iCruze package on sale for $99

Music store offers iPods for CD trade-ins

Millennium Music, an independent music store in Charleston, South Carolina, allows customers to trade in their old CDs for an iPod. You can drop off your CDs at one of two locations or ship your collection to the store. The CDs credits will be judged on physical quality and quality of title. In addition, if a customer doesn’t have enough CDs, the difference can be made up with cash.

PayPal is offering free songs from the iTunes Music Store when you buy an iTunes gift certificate using the online payment service. You’ll receive 10 free song downloads when you use PayPal to buy a $20 iTunes gift certificate, and 25 free songs when you use PayPal to purchase a $50 gift certificate. “This holiday season, give the gift of music with gift certificates from iTunes,” says PayPal. “For a limited time, you’ll also get free songs for yourself when you pay with PayPal.” [via Infinite Loop]
