Pyramid Distribution has introduced its new iHolder Stand for iPad. Made by Green Figure, the iHolder is an iMac-like stand for the iPad featuring an aluminum base, polycarbonate grip pads to hold the device in place, a rotating stand for horizontal or vertical use, three adjustable viewing angles, and cutouts for Dock and headphone access while in the stand. The iHolder Stand for iPad is available now and sells for $50.

Following up on its May announcement of the AmpliTube iRig adapter, IK Multimedia has released the iPad version of its AmpliTube for iPad companion software. Designed to be used with the iRig adapter, the AmpliTube app provides a portable multi-touch tone-modeling solution for guitar and bass players. The app provides the same 23 amps and effects as the iPhone version, accessible from a single-pane touchscreen control interface and four simultaneous stompbox effects—one more than the iPhone version. The app provides five amp models with full tonal and drive controls, 11 stompbox effects, five cabinet layouts and two microphones. Users can easily organize and recall configurations on the fly with 36 available presets. Additional functions in the iPad version include a tuner, metronome and backing track player that can be used to improve playing skills. AmpliTube for iPad is available from the App Store for $20. A free version is also available with only three effects and a single amp and cabinet; additional gear from the full version can be added to the free version via in-app purchase. An iPhone version is also available. The AmpliTube iRig adapter is sold separately for $40.
Brenthaven has posted details of its upcoming 5-in-1 case for the iPad. The 5-in-1 is a two-sided hardshell case offering protection for both the front and rear of the iPad, a slot in the front cover that allows it to function as both a viewing and typing stand, an included headrest strap system for hands-free use of the iPad in a car, and an integrated handle for a secure grip. Brenthaven’s 5-in-1 case for the iPad is now available for pre-order for $60 and is expected to begin shipping on August 15.
Duluth Pack has introduced its Haversack bag for the iPad. The Haversack is a messenger-style bag made from 18-ounce canvas, and featuring a leather strap and buckle closure, side and interior pockets for carrying pens, pencils, cell phones, and iPods, an adjustable leather or cotton shoulder strap, and an iPad-sized internal zippered pocket. Duluth Pack’s Haversack bag for iPad is available now in a variety of colors and sells for $100.
Twelve South has introduced its new Compass mobile stand for the iPad. Compass is an easel-like stand made from heavy gauge steel featuring a collapsible design for easy portability, the ability to switch between two stand angles—one more vertical and one low-angle—and an included travel case. Twelve South’s Compass mobile stand for iPad is available now and sells for $40.
iHome has debuted a new alarm clock and charging station for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod. The iA100ZE is a modified version of the iA100 that was an iLounge 2010 Best of Show winner at this year’s CES, the iA100ZE is an app-optimized alarm clock offering an integrated Dock, Bongiovi audio technology, custom alarm and nap settings, the ability to sync the clock to that of the connected iPhone, iPad, or iPod, an FM radio with 10 presets, Bluetooth audio and speakerphone technology, programmable snooze time, and gradual wake/sleep functions. The iB969 is a charging station for the iPad, iPod, iPhone, and other USB-charging devices. It features a built-in iPad stand, two integrated iPod/iPhone docks—one offering sync capability and one offering quick charging—and a USB port for charging either the iPad or some other USB-charging device. Prices and release dates have yet to be announced for either product.
Griffin Technology has debuted its new Loop stand, PowerBlock Plus wall charger, and Elan Passport Nylon case for the Apple iPad. The Loop is a cushioned cradle for the iPad that supports two viewing angles in either orientation, and features an open loop design for cable access as well as non-slip rubber feet to protect furniture. It is available now and sells for $30. The PowerBlock Plus is an AC wall charger for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod, featuring an additional, pass-through outlet on the back, and fast 2.1 amp charging for the iPad. It is priced at $35 and will be available in August. The Elan Passport Nylon is a folio-style case featuring a black nylon exterior, microsuede lining, interior card and paper slots, and a tab closure. It sells for $50 and is available now. Finally, Griffin also announced a new 3 Meter USB to Dock Cable with 2.1 amp support for the iPad; it is available now and sells for $30.
Temple Bags has unveiled its new line of cases for the Apple iPad. The line includes a sleeve-style case, a folio case, a vertical case with exterior and internal pockets, and a horizontal case with three exterior pockets—the latter two of which can double as stands. Each case is available in black, brown leather, and “re-purposed” styles; prices range from $79 to $265, and new orders ship in 2-4 weeks.
Case-Mate has debuted its new Venture case and stand for the Apple iPad. Made from a black polyurethane material with green piping, the Venture features a side-opening design, access to all ports and controls, and a folding front cover with snap closure that doubles as an adjustable-angle stand. Case-Mate’s Venture hybrid case/stand for the Apple iPad is available now and sells for $90.
Heckler Design has introduced its new @Rest stand for the iPad. Made from precisely-cut, heavy steel, the @Rest features a powdercoat finish, milled polypropylene resting pegs that adjust to hold both encased and bare iPads, two resting sides for holding the iPad at either 30 or 60 degrees in both horizontal or vertical orientation, and cord pass-through holes for convenient charging. Available now in a variety of colors, Heckler Design’s @Rest stand for iPad sells for $59.
Boomwave has unveiled its new Strapz and Kix cases for the Apple iPad. Strapz is a sleeve-style case featuring an inner neoprene pouch and an outer layer of slatted cowhide leather, with an elastic band for secure closure. It is available in three colors and sells for $43. Kix is a full coverage case with a dual zippered closure, perforated faux leather exterior, inner and outer pockets, and the ability to serve as a stand. It comes in two colors and sells for $38; both of Boomwave’s new cases for the iPad are available now.
Ten One Design has posted a demonstration video showing off the company’s pressure-sensitive software for the iPad. Using the software in a demo sketch application, along with a Pogo Sketch stylus, a Ten One designer is able to vary the line width drawn on the screen by differing the amount of pressure exerted. The video also shows off advanced palm and finger rejection, allowing the application to respond solely to the stylus. While the company says it plans to release these capabilities as a free library that can be included in any application, it admits that the library currently uses a private function call to access the required information, and will require an update to the UIKit framework to allow for widespread distribution. Made from smooth oil-tanned leather, the Targus Hughes Leather Portfolio Sleeve features a soft interior twill lining and a magnetic closure, and is priced at $60. The Truss is a folio-style leather case featuring a soft interior lining and the ability to double as a stand for video viewing. It sells for $50. Finally, the Wallet Style Case is leather case featuring a slide tab closure, slim pockets for storing cards, photos, or notes, and a soft interior lining to reduce scratching. JayBird has announced that it is now shipping its SB2 Sportsband Bluetooth Headphones. Previewed at the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show, the new SB2s feature a concealed microphone for calls, an adjustable band, earpad-mounted track, play/pause, call, and volume controls, and apt-X audio technology that helps compensate for Bluetooth compression. In addition, the headphones are compatible with the company’s $5 BluTrax app, which circumvents the iPhone’s, iPad’s, and iPod touch’s lack of AVRCP support by allowing users to chance tracks via the play/pause button on the headphones themselves. JayBird’s SB2 Sportsband Bluetooth Headphones are available in nine colors and sell for $99, or for $149 in a bundle with the company’s apt-X capable iSport Bluetooth Adapter for iPhone & iPod, which sells for $69 separately.
Mophie has introduced its new line of Juice Pack Universal external batteries for the iPod, iPhone, and iPad. The Juice Pack Reserve is a slender external battery for the iPod and iPhone, featuring a retractable 30-pin connector, four LED status indicator lights, and integrated LED flashlight, a 1000mAh, high-output battery, an included USB charging cable, and a keychain attachment. It is priced at $40. The Juice Pack Boost offers an identical feature set and similar design to the Reserve, but ups the battery to a 1500mAh cell for $60; the company will also be offering a larger-capacity, iPod-, iPhone-, and iPad compatible charger known as the Power Station for $100. The Juice Pack Reserve is available now; the Boost and Power Station will be available at a later date.
SwitchEasy has rolled out its new Reptile case for the Apple iPad. The Reptile features a hybrid design of an ADSP shell with a crocodile skin texture on the back, and a GE Lexan polycarbonate UltraFrame that covers the outer edges and front aluminum frame while offering open or push-through access to all ports and controls. iSkin has introduced its new line of cases for the Apple iPad. Made from Microban-enhanced silicone, the Duo is a low-profile case featuring side grips for better handling, push-through protection for the volume, home, and sleep buttons, and a front-facing black screen frame. It comes in seven colors and sells for $50. The Vu is a hybrid case offering both soft and hard plastic components, a rear bottom hatch that can be removed for docking, recessed power and volume button protection, an integrated earphone port cover, and home button protection. It also comes in seven colors and is priced at $65; both of iSkin’s new cases for the iPad are available now.
Jays has outed its new a-JAYS Four iPhone stereo music headset for the iPhone 4. Designed to match the iPhone 4 but compatible with the iPhone 3GS, iPad, third-generation iPod touch, fifth-generation iPod nano, and third-generation iPod shuffle, the a-JAYS Four iPhone features an in-line three button control module, the same sound signature as the company’s a-Jays Three, a new, custom-built silicon microphone, an angled 3.5mm plug, and a flat, tangle-free cord. a-JAYS Four iPhone will be available in black and white and is expected to ship in Q3 2010; pricing has yet to be announced.
