Zagg has introduced its new ZAGGsparq mobile backup battery for the iPod, iPhone, and other USB devices. The ZAGGsparq features a 6,000 mAh lithium polymer battery, which the company claims is good for up to four iPhone recharges. Other features include LED lighting to indicate the current power level, two USB ports to charge multiple devices at once, and a compact black body with with integrated standard outlet prongs. The Zagg ZAGGsparq is available now and sells for $70.
Pioneer has unveiled its XW-NAS3 and XW-NAS5 speaker systems for iPod in the U.S. Previously available in other areas, both systems offer 2.1-Channel sound with an integrated downfiring subwoofer, an integrated iPod dock, component and composite video outputs, an included remote control, an auxiliary input, and compatibility with the optional AS-BT100 Bluetooth adapter. In addition, the NAS5 also features Pioneer’s Advanced Sound Receiver processing for improved sound from compressed files and Auto Level Control which monitors the volume level from track to track. Pioneer’s XW-NAS3 and XW-NAS5 speaker systems for iPod are listed as “coming soon;” pricing has yet to be revealed.
Speck Products has forged a partnership with community-based online product platform Artsprojekt to create new versions of the company’s Fitted case for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. Limited to 250 each worldwide, and with only the first 100 released prior to Christmas, the first editions will feature artwork from San Francisco-based artist Andy Howell, Noumeda Carbon of Florence, Italy, and Tesha Beaudry Okolowsky of Montreal, Canada. In addition to offering open access to all ports and controls, each case will come with a limited edition designation on the inside and includes a special collectors card about the art and artist. Speck’s Artsprojekt Fitted Authorized Editions for iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS will be available soon and will sell for $40.
JVC has announced its new XS-SR3 iPod speaker dock. The XS-SR3 features a unique design with a rotating dock made to accomodate both vertical and landscape positions, a glossy black speaker tube with a curved design that allows the iPod to sit in between the speakers, Dolby Virtual Surround sound processing to create a wider sound field, 5 watts of power, two audio inputs—one analog and one optical digital—and an included remote control. The JVC XS-SR3 will be available later this month and will sell for $150. [via Engadget]
Audio-Technica has introduced its new ATH-ANC1 QuietPoint headphones. The ATH-ANC1 features an on-ear, folding design, and offer the company’s active noise-cancelling technology, which employs miniature built-in microphones to detect environmental noise and apply a corresponding sound-cancelling signal. Other features include full-range drivers, the ability to operate in passive mode without batteries, and an included carrying pouch, 1.6-foot extension cord, an airline adapter, and an AAA battery. Audio-Technica’s ATH-ANC1 QuietPoint headphones will be available in January 2009 and will sell for $130.
Uniea has announced its new U-Diamond case for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. The U-Diamond case is made of a double-silicone construction with a diamond matrix design style and texture and provides cutouts for the iPhone camera, Dock Connector, speakerphone and ringer switch as well as pass-through buttons for the iPhone volume control, and includes a U-Shield screen protector. The case is expected to be available in five different colors and is scheduled for release sometime in the first quarter of 2010. No price has yet been announced.
DLO has released a new wall charger that lets you charge your iPod or iPhone without the need for cables. The WallDock is a wall-mounted charger with a built-in dock for iPod or iPhone. The WallDock ($25) features a pivoting, 30-pin dock allowing any iPod or iPhone to rest against the wall for support and claims to charge in less amount of time than other standard, less powered chargers.
Incase has released yet another new case design for the iPhone 3G/3GS. The Perforated Snap Case is made of a plastic, snap-on hardshell and features perforations throughout, making the case lightweight. The Snap Case comes in black, white and pink and a S-Stand is also included for $30.
Proporta has introduced its new Antimicrobial Silicone Case with SteriTouch for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. The Antimicrobial Silicone Case is made from rugged silicone, which has been treated with an antimicrobial coating to guard against germs and bacteria, and features a textured black outer surface with grey interior. Proporta’s Antimicrobial Silicone Case with SteriTouch for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS is available now and sells for $21.
Griffin Technology, as part of its new Co-Op Initiative, has announced a partnership with community-based online apparel store Threadless to produce a new line of accessories. First in the series are the new Clouds within the Thunder and Birds of a Feather cases for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. Each single-piece thin polycarbonate case offers a thickness of less than 1mm, and open access to all ports, controls, and the camera. In addition, like the t-shirt designs on which they are based, each case design is made in limited quantities. Both new Griffin+Threadless cases for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS are available now and sell for $35.
Dexim has introduced its new DCA132 P-Flip Foldable Power Dock for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. The P-Flip is a portable battery pack featuring a unique folding design that allows it to serve as either a cradle or video stand for the attached device, depending on whether it’s in a vertical or horizontal position. In addition, it offers a 2000 mAh lithium polymer battery good for up to eight extra hours of talk time, a mini-USB port for recharging the battery and for both syncing and recharging the attached device, and an included cradle for second- and third-generation iPod touches. Dexim’s DCA132 P-Flip Foldable Power Dock for the iPhone 3G, 3GS, and iPod touch 2G and 3G will be available online and in AT&T stores starting November 22, and will sell for $60. Evolution Designs has introduced its new BackFlip Case for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. Made from a soft, impact-absorbing material, the BackFlip Case features open access to the screen, Home button, camera, ring/silent switch, headphone port, and Dock connector, built-in, push-through protection for the sleep/wake and volume buttons, and a built-in kickstand on the rear that can hold the iPhone upright when in vertical position or on its side for landscape use. Griffin Technology has announced a partnership with textile designer Chilewich l Sultan in which the two companies will work together to create a new line of co-branded Griffin + Chilewich accessories. The first fruit of the collaboration is the new Elan Form Chilewich case for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. This new case maintains the two-piece, EasyDock design, polycarbonate construction, and open access to all ports and controls of the original, but adds an outer layer of Sandy Chilewich’s woven vinyl textiles. Currently available in light grey or gravel, the Elan Form Chilewich sells for $40.
Caze has introduced its new Zero 5 UltraThin case for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. Made from translucent polycarbonate, the Zero 5 offers a maximum thickness of just 0.5mm, open access to all ports and controls, and partial protection for the iPhone’s chrome bezel. In addition, the case includes both mirror and anti-smudge screen protectors and a microfiber cleaning cloth. Available in black (smoke) or clear, Caze’s Zero 5 UltraThin case for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS is available now and sells for $20.
Thunk has introduced its new Appstand accessory for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. Appstand is a unique stand for the iPhone that places the device in the center of a mat and frame combination, in effect turning the iPhone into a digital picture frame. Users have full access to all ports and controls while their devices are in the frame; other features include interchangeable Appmats, a spring-loaded stand offering four distinct viewing angles, and a clip for optional cord storage. Thunk’s Appstand for iPhone 3G and 3GS is available for pre-order now and is expected to begin shipping on December 1 for $20.
Gigaware has introduced its new In-Line Control with HD Radio for iPhone and iPod touch. The Dock-connecting controller features a remote control setup similar to that of Apple’s prior iPod Radio Remote, as well as an HD Radio tuner, iTunes Tagging support, the ability to show song information on the iPhone’s or iPod touch’s display. The In-Line Control requires iBiquity Digital’s free HD Radio app for the iPhone and iPod touch, and is available now exclusively from RadioShack for $80.
iFrogz has announced the launch of its new MyFrogz line of customizable Luxe cases for iPhone. Available in AT&T stores nationwide, MyFrogz’ packaging includes a customization code for use with the free MyFrogz app or on iFrogz’ MyFrogz website, as well as a clear protective case for use until the customized case arrives. Customers can create unique case designs by choosing from more than 20 color options for both the top and bottom pieces, and from options such as a classic metallic or semi-transparent “frost” finishes. Once a case has been created, the case is made and shipped immediately, normally arriving at the customer’s address in less than one week. MyFrogz customizable Luxe cases are available now from AT&T stores across the U.S. and sell for $35.
Quirky, a community product development service, has introduced the Beamer, its new case for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. Made from hard plastic, the Beamer is a two-piece case with an integrated LED light. A recessed button on the side of the case opposite the volume buttons and ring/hold switch allows users to turn the light on for 10 second bursts—good for photos—or indefinitely if needed for longer periods. Other features include access to all ports and controls, a replaceable cell coin battery good for 10 hours of LED operation, and a slide-off bottom for easy docking. Quirky’s Beamer case for iPhone 3G and 3GS is available for pre-order now and sells for $32.
iFlipWallet has introduced the iFlip, a new case for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. The iFlip is a combination case and wallet, made from genuine leather and offering a wallet-like, flip-out addition on the rear of the case. Features include access to all ports and controls whether the wallet portion is opened or closed, access to the camera when the wallet is open, and several card slots on the interior of the wallet, including one with a clear cover to keep IDs visible. The iFlip iPhone wallet is available now and sells for $50.
iSkin has introduced its new solo FX Special Edition (SE) case for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. Like the previously-released solo and solo FX for iPhone 3G, the SE is a form-fitting case, featuring integrated volume and power button protection, an embossed design pattern for added visual interest, and unobstructed access to all ports and controls. Unlike prior models, however, the solo FX SE features a more subdued matte finish with a textured surface, and includes both clear and mirror-finish screen film protectors. The solo FX SE for iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS is available now in black, pink, or white, and sells for $35.
