Marware has introduced its new Sidewinder Deluxe case for the iPhone 3G. The Sidewinder Deluxe combines a slim clear Flexi-Shell case and a rubberized snap-in holster featuring a detachable low-profile belt clip and a patented slide-out side arm cord management system. The Flexi-Shell case offers open access to all the iPhone’s ports and controls, while the snap-in holster offers compatibility with the Sport Grip for iPhone 3G as well as the included case. The Sidewinder Deluxe for iPhone 3G also includes clear protective film and a microfiber cleaning cloth, and is available now for $35; additional black and white Flexi-Shell cases will be available soon.
Sony has introduced three new iPod-ready car stereos. The CDX-GT630UI features the ability to connect directly to both iPods and iPhones via USB, and Passenger Control which allows passengers to control the connected device while being charged. Other features include front, rear, and subwoofer preamp outputs, a flip-down detachable faceplate, and a 13-segment, LCD with black LED display. The CDX-GT430IP comes with a 1.5 meter cable featuring a 30-pin connector to provide full menu control and charging for iPod. It too offers Passenger Control, as well as a black LED screen and front and rear/sub preamp outputs. Finally, the CDX-GT330 offers compatibility with the $50 XA-120IP adapter to allow for charging and head unit control of iPods. Sony’s CDX-GT630UI, CDX-GT430IP and CDX-GT330 head units all include a wireless remote control, and will sell for $160, $130, and $100, respectively, when they go on sale in September.
ION has introduced its new CarbonFiber Leather Shell for the iPhone 3G. The open faced case features a hard shell wrapped in premium leather, with an exposed stripe of carbon fiber running down the center of the case’s rear. It offers open access to the iPhone’s touch screen and home button, volume and power buttons, ringer/silent switch, and headphone and Dock Connector ports. Available in white, black, or grey, the ION CarbonFiber Leather Shell for iPhone 3G is available now and sells for $80.
Speck Products has announced that it is now shipping its SeeThru case for the iPhone 3G. Originally announced in June, SeeThru for iPhone 3G is a hard shell case with built-in rubberized side strips for extra grip and a specially designed bottom that slides off for docking and conveniently doubles as a horizontal stand. It also offers full access to all ports and controls. Speck’s SeeThru case for the iPhone 3G is available now in purple, pink, red, clear, or black, and sells for $30. SwitchEasy has announced the release of its new Colors case for the iPhone 3G. Made from silicone, Colors is a form-fitting case featuring a “jelly bean” home button, thick silicone for shock protection, and extra-thick button covers for the volume and power buttons. Each Colors case includes a case, two anti-static screen protectors, a Microfiber cleaning cloth, a squeegee applicator, a headphone jack protector, and a 30-pin Dock Connector protector. As its name would suggest, Colors is available in 10 different colors, and is available now for $15.
H2O Audio has introduced its new line of AMPHIBIX Waterproof Armbands for MP3 Players and Phones. Designed to handle a number of different portable media devices and phones, the armbands are available in Large (for full-sized iPods, the iPod touch, and iPhones) and Medium (for iPod nano, iPod shuffle, and iPod mini) sizes. Each features a LatchTight locking closure for 100% waterproofing down to 12 feet, a ClearTouch plastic window that allows full operation of the devices while in the case, a SealTight Connector that’s compatible with all standard 3.5mm headphone plugs, an adjustable strap, and the ability to float even with a device inside. H2O Audio’s AMPHIBIX Waterproof Armbands are available now in Large and Medium sizes and sell for $80 and $70, respectively.
Power Support Japan has introduced its new Air Jacket Set for the iPhone 3G (Translated link). Like the company’s prior Air Jacket Sets for the original iPhone and iPod touch, the iPhone 3G set consists of an extremely thin polycarbonate rear plate, which is used in conjunction with one of the two included protective screen films (one clear, one anti-glare). The set also includes a Dock Connector protector and a dust-collection cleaning sheet. Currently available in clear for 2,280 yen (~$21), the Power Support Air Jacket Set for iPhone 3G will soon be available in black and white variations, as well. U.S. availability has not yet been announced.
Update: Power Support USA is now offering the Air Jacket for iPhone 3G in clear or black for $35.
Mophie has introduced its new Juice Pack for the iPhone 3G. Like the company’s Juice Packs for iPhone and iPod touch, the iPhone 3G version houses a rechargeable lithium polymer battery within a soft touch, non-slip rear case. According to Mophie, the Juice Pack offers an additional 350 hours of standby time, 6 hours of talk time on 3G, 12 hours of talk time on 2G, 6 hours of Internet use on 3G, 8 hours of video playback, or 28 hours of audio playback. Other features include “Works With iPhone” certification, a 4 LED charge status indicator, and a USB passthrough port for charging and syncing. The Mophie Juice Pack for iPhone 3G is available for pre-order now and will ship in September for $100.
Following announcements this week that certain iPhone accessory manufacturers had received iPhone 3G certification for previously released accessories under Apple’s Works With iPhone program, iLounge contacted Apple to clarify the reasons that past iPhone accessories might need to be re-certified for use with the new handset. Apple spokesman Simon Pope explained that re-certification has occured on some products “because of the addition of the 2100 [MHz] band in iPhone 3G,” adding that “[t]he “Works With iPhone” certification should appear on packaging with icons that let customers know which iPhone models a product is compatible with.” An example of Apple’s iPhone 3G icon and text, which will appear on iPhone 3G-compatible Works With iPhone products, is pictured; certain previous Works With iPhone products contained only the Works With iPhone label, rather than specific product icons.
Ridax, a company that sells various iPod Dock Connector accessories, has begun taking pre-orders for its iPhone 3G Charge Converter. The small accessory, the design of which is still being finished, will allow iPhone 3G owners to use older iPod and iPhone charging accessories that are currently incompatible with the 3G to charge the device by converting the power stream to suit the iPhone 3G. It will feature both male and female connectors, as well as a mini USB connector on the side to provide a way to charge the device when connected to a non-charging, Dock Connector-equipped accessory, and will also function as a short Dock extender. Ridax’s iPhone 3G Charge Converter will be available in September for $40; those who want the device sooner can pre-order a $45 “bare” version which will ship in August, followed by the plastic cover which will arrive in September. There is no guarantee that the converter will be safe to use with all accessories, so use caution in ordering.
Noreve has introduced three new cases for the iPhone 3G. The Tradition is a leather case featuring open access to all ports and controls, a flip-down front cover with magnetic closure and a credit card slot, and a removable swiveling metal belt clip. It is available in a variety of colors and sells for $50. Noreve’s Tradition B is an open-faced, padded form-fitting leather case that offers open access to all ports and controls, and a magnetic top flap for a secure fit. It is also available in a variety of colors and sells for $43. Finally, the Tradition C for iPhone 3G is a pouch-style leather case that features velvet interior lining, open access to the iPhone’s top-mounted headphone jack and sleep/wake button, and an embossed logo on the rear of the pouch. Available in a variety of colors, it sells for $40.
iLuv has introduced four new cases for the iPhone 3G. The company is offering two styles of Silicone Case for the iPhone 3G, including a solid color version (Silicone Case) and a two-tone model (Two-Tone Silicone Case). Both feature a form-fitting design and full access to all ports and controls, and come with a glare-free protective film screen protector. iLuv’s Silicone Case and Two-Tone Silicone Case for iPhone 3G sell for $13 and $25, respectively. Like the Silicone Case, iLuv is also offering its Hard Case for iPhone in two styles: a traditional, solid color model (Hard Case), and a translucent version (Clear Hard Case). Both cases are made from hard plastic, feature a form-fitting design, offer complete access to all ports and controls, and include a glare-free protective film screen protector. Both the Hard Case and Clear Hard Case for iPhone 3G sell for $25; all four cases are available now.

It is available in black, white, pink, blue, and green, and sells for $30. Finally, the FlowerVest for iPhone 3G is a form-fitting silicone case offering open access to all ports and controls, and featuring a floral design pattern on the rear of the case. Available in brown/blue or pink/pink, it also sells for $30. All three cases are available now.
Vaja has introduced its new iVolution case for the iPhone 3G. Made from high quality Argentine leather, the iVolution for iPhone 3G is an open-faced case with a slide-in design, offering open access to all the phone’s ports and controls, coverage for the Home button and front bezel, and a metal Vaja logo in the upper right front corner. Available in a wide range of colors, the Vaja iVolution for iPhone 3G is available now and starts at $85; the company’s site says the handicraft process for the case takes around 45 days.
iSkin has announced its new revo2 case for the iPhone 3G. The revo2 is made from soft Microban antimicrobial silicone, and features a detachable ViSOR transparent face shield, a honeycomb micro-texture for added grip, raised volume and power buttons, open access to the iPhone 3G’s camera, ring/silent switch, microphone, and speaker, integrated headphone and Dock Connector port covers, and a special translucent silicone zone that protects the device’s proximity and ambient light sensors without obstruction. In addition, it offers compatibility with the company’s revoClip belt holster, and comes with anti-glare and anti-fingerprint screen film. Available in Onyx (Black/Black), Diablo (Red/Black), Sonic (Blue/Black) and Ozone (Clear/Black), the iSkin revo2 for iPhone 3G is available now and sells for $40.
Boomwave has introduced its new Kruz cases for the iPhone 3G. Each Kruz case offers open access to all the iPhone 3G’s ports and controls, and includes a screen protector. Kruz ABS cases feature hard shell protection with a faux leather exterior, and come in white, red, or black, each with a unique design on the rear shell. Kruz ABS cases for iPhone 3G sell for $24 each. Also available are Kruz SC cases, which are made from cowhide leather, and feature an embossed design on the back side and a dual hook for attaching to a bag, strap, or belt loop. Boomwave’s Kruz SC cases are available in black with either red or white stitching, and sell for $28. Both styles are available now.
PDair has introduced a wide variety of cases for the iPhone 3G. In leather, the company is offering two vertical flip-style cases — one with a snap closure and one without — in both standard and crocodile-textured leathers, and in a variety of colors. Both flip cases feature open access to ports and controls, and contrast stitching. The Flip Type case with snap closure sells for $28 with standard leather and $32 with crocodile patterned leather, while the non-snap model sells for $35 in normal leather and $38 in crocodile patterned leather. In addition, both horizontal and vertical pouch-style leather cases are available, with the vertical model available in both normal and crocodile patterned leather, with or without a belt clip, while the horizontal pouch is available in both normal and crocodile patterned leather, and features a magnetic closure and included belt clip. Both the Vertical and Horizontal Pouch cases sell for $28 for the standard leather models and $32 in crocodile patterned leather.

Speck Product’s PixelSkin for iPhone 3G is available in shades of black, white, purple, pink, yellow, blue, and green, and sells for $25.
Grantwood Technology has announced the release of its new Tuneband for iPhone and iPhone 3G. The Tuneband is an armband case that secures the iPhone to the user’s arm during exercise, while allowing for full access to the device’s screen, controls, and ports. It consists of a flexible Velcro armband strap designed to accommodate both small and large arms, a silicon case to hold the iPhone or iPhone 3G, and a low-tack, cut-and-peel screen protector. Grantwood Technology’s Tuneband for iPhone and iPhone 3G is available now and sells for $13.
