ProClip expands line of auto mounts for iPods

Today ProClip announced that it has released models for 20GB and 40GB iPods. “ProClip mounting brackets are clip-on devices, that attach to the car or truck’s dashboard or console, and can be self-installed in seconds. Once the bracket is in place, a custom designed holder is attached to provide a secure fit for each accessory.” The ProClip for iPod is priced at $34.95 and is available for many popular auto makes and models.

Piel Frama releases new iPod case

picPiel Frama, makers of fine leather cases based in the south of Spain has released a new case for 30GB/40GB iPods. The Piel Frama case features a flip-lid design with two interior credit card slots, one money slot, soft leather lining, ABS insert (rigid case), access to all iPod functions, snap closure, detachable swivel belt clip and comes in three colors; black, tan and black/tan. The case can be purchased direct from PielFrama’s website and is priced at $59 or 50€. UPS                   express or TNT shipping costs are included in the price, and delivery time is noted at 30 days.

Lajo announces eXo 2 for 1 deal

picLajo, the designer manufacturer of eXo and all www.lajo.biz distributors and resellers are compensating iPod owners for the launch delays of eXo by offering a 2 for 1 deal on every eXo purchased from now until November 1. This means that when you buy one eXo you can choose a second (free) eXo and both will be shipped complete with a TPU zip case, a screen protector and a belt clip.

Pacific Rim Technologies to release new iPod hardcase

picPacific Rim Technologies, makers of cases and accessories for PDAs is about to release a new hardcase for iPod. The not-yet-named case features anodized aluminum with scratch-resistant surfaces, screen protection, neoprene lined interior, multiple attachments for use while at home, the office, gym or other sports activities, cleaning cloth, and comes with removable color inserts in cobalt blue, green, burnt orange, and silver. The case and website is set to launch October 15, and pre-ordering will be available for $49.99 with all four inserts and $39.99 with one insert of your choice. Incase Designs releases Folio for 3G iPods

picIncase Designs has released an updated Folio case for new docking iPods at the online Apple Store. The new nappa leather Folio features a front flip-lid, access to all iPod functions, suede non-scratch lining, belt or strap attachment and FireWire protection plug. Although Incase has not yet updated its website with the new case, the Apple Store has it available for $29.95 and estimated shipping is 1-2 business days.

Griffin: New iTrip Now Shipping

picToday Griffin Technology announced that the new iTrip for 3G iPods is now shipping. “The new model ($35) improves upon its predecessor with an even sleeker body style, new power saving features and a red LED light to match the new iPods red backlight perfectly.” As reported earlier, Grifffin has also officially released over 100 new international frequencies for use on original and new iTrips.

“The iTrip-NEW for the new iPods is NOW SHIPPING. However - pre-orders are being filled first so new orders (orders placed today) will take up to 3 weeks to fulfill. We’re making them as fast as we can, but we just wanted you to know so you don’t expect your order immediately. DogCollarLabor releases colored ModPods

picDogCollarLabor has updated the ModPod iPod stand in multiple colors; translucent blue, glowing orange and glowing green. The ModPod stand is made from transparent Lucite, fits all iPod models and is priced at $14.95.

Updated: InventiveGadgets releases iPod Holder

picInventiveGadgets has emailed iLounge to inform its readers that they have “replaced Velcro with a polymer based ‘cling pad’ that holds the iPod in place without placing any foreign substance on the iPod.”

InventiveGadgets has released an iPod Holder for the car. The iPod Holder features a vertical steel stand with an angled platform, and mounts to the lower portion of the center console in your car using double-sided adhesive. The iPod is attached to the platform via adhesive Velcro dots. iPod Holder fits all iPod models, is available in black or white for $29.99, and fits most cars and SUVs. Also note that late model VW Passat owners do not need to use the adhesive mount, but can simply slide the stand into the center console.

Case Closed Bags feature unique iPod cases

picCase Closed Bags in New York, makers of ‘fashionable, stylish, fun’ laptop and iPod cases is soon to release new 3G iPod cases. Their current line of classic iPod (non-docking) cases come in two distinct syles named Clarence and Sheldon. The Clarence case features a clear vinyl front, 3-D Hologram material inside and back, and a detachable swivel belt-clip. The Sheldon is a molded, rigid case featuring elastic sides and a detachable belt-clip. The Clarence case is priced at $29.95 and the Sheldon is $19.99.

Griffin releases new iTrip Frequencies

Griffin Technology has released several new frequency packs for use on iTrip. The following frequencies may help you find a clear FM station in your area for optimum reception:

iTrip US Frequencies - Odd frequencies from 87.9 to 107.9.
iTrip European Frequencies - Odd and even frequencies from 88.0 to 108.0.
iTrip Frequencies - Other - Odd and even frequencies from 76.0 to 90.0.

Belkin releases Digital FM Transmitter

pic Belkin has released a new all digital FM tranimitter at Apple Store online. The Digital transmitter features a coiled cord, LCD display, FM channels 88.1Mhz to 107.9Mhz, up to 8 hours of battery life on 1 AAA battery (included) and a 3-year Belkin warranty. The Digital FM Transmitter is priced at $39.99 and Apple esitmates shipping at 2-3 weeks. The transmitter is not yet listed on Belkin’s website. The Belkin Digital FM transmitter seems to be a rebadged FM transmitter also known as Audia X and Gruv X.

Forums: Reader received 3G iTrip

picIn the forums, iLounger ‘divine’ announced with a link to several photos that he received his new 3G iTrip on September 12. “Not sure why I got it so early. Like I said in the comments, my friend just ordered 2 from Griffin and they shipped it overnight.” He also posted a link to his UPS tracking information to prove to our readers that he did in fact receive it on Sept. 12.

Belkin TuneDok for iPod Released

piciLounger Sean has informed us that Belkin has released the TuneDok to the general public and has posted information on its website. The TuneDok was the same iPod holder that was provided in the VW iPod connectivity kit for the ‘Pods Unite’ promotion, which has since expired. The iPod holder features ‘AirGrip’ technology (suction cup) for secure placement, a large and small rubber base plus adapter cup for exact fit in a cup holder, cable management system, and comes with a 3 year warranty. The TuneDok fits all iPod models and retails for $29.99.

Dension announces ice>Link for iPod

Dension, the leading manufacturer of hard disk-based car audio, announces ice>Link for iPod - the *ultimate* iPod car kit. iPod audio is routed through the CD changer port on over 80% of European market cars including Audi, BMW, Ford, Mini, Peugeot, Renault and VW as well as aftermarket Alpine, Blaupunkt, Kenwood and Sony. The killer feature is that FF/RW radio controls (and steering wheel buttons on suitably equipped vehicles) are mapped onto iPod allowing track navigation from the vehicle controls. ice>Link for iPod also charges the iPod when in the car.

Griffin iFM Shipping Update

Here’s an email that I recently received from Griffin Technology, regarding shipping news about the iFM: “While no firm date yet exists for the iFM, we estimate that we are about 80% completed with the project and will likely get it to market in November.”

pic Altec Lansing has announced the inMotion Portable iPod Speakers for iPod. The portable speaker system features a built-in docking bay for data transfer and syncronization, full-featured alarm clock that plays wake up music, headphone port, auxiliary input, MaxBass technology for deep bass response, and an on-board Class D amplifier. The portable system uses an included AC adapter or four AA batteries (not included). The inMotion Portable iPod Speakers are priced at $149.99, are available exclusively at Apple Store online, and will be in Apple retail stores beginning in November. Apple estimates shipping at 7-10 business days.                                                 
             

XtremeMac releases Premium iPod Car Charger

pic XtremeMac has released the new Premium iPod Car Charger for 3G iPods which uses Apple’s proprietary dock connector. The charger features a single LED to indicate a power connection, removable fuse for current protection, diode protection for backflow current, impact resistant shell, integrated cable strain relief on both ends and a limited lifetime warranty. It’s available now for $19.95 or bundled in the Get Connected Kit for $49.95.

New iTrip due early October

In the ongoing saga of when the new iTrip will actually ship, several iLoungers have received emails from Griffin Tech Support stating it would ship about the first or second week in October. Griffin gave no reasons for the delay.

New case from Contour Design?

iLounger Joe has sent us information and photos regarding a possible new case from Contour Design. “The new iPod case will be called the “Contour showcase for iPod” or “showcase”. It will feature a combination of hard, clear plastic and soft rubber edges, and billed as “the hard case with the soft touch.” It will cost about $40 and should be available by mid-October.”
