The newest update for Google’s Chrome (free), the memorably-named version 25.0.1364.86, features improved search and sharing. In a feature rolling out in the coming weeks, a search term can be seen in the omnibox, instead of the long search URL. Holding the back button can now quickly access any page in your tab history, and any web page can now be shared via Messages. Bug fixes and stability and security improvements are included in the update, as well.

Also from Google, a version 1.1 update for the iPhone and iPod touch app Google Maps (free) brings a search for Google Contacts; signing in lets users access saved address for friends and family by name. Version 1.1 also introduces a quicker local search by category, and the ability to choose between miles and kilometers for distance units. Some features may not be available in all countries, and there is still no iPad-specific version of the app.
Apple’s iBooks (free) also received an update today, as version 3.1 brings hundreds of thousands of Japanese books to Japan’s iBookstore, including fiction, light novels, and manga. The updated version of iBooks also includes “a number of improvements for reading Asian language books.”

PikPok’s Into the Dead (free) is a first-person endless runner game, with zombies. The game features multiple modes, including classic and new massacre mode, with a “hardcore mode” coming soon. Multiple weapons help players stay alive, as do perks and power ups to start your run. The game’s most recent version 1.2 added zombie theme packs, including footballer and WWII zombies.
New version 1.1 of Wheel of Fortune ($3) from Sony Pictures Television adds a turn-based multiplayer mode. The mode, called Spin Together, lets you challenge competitors across social networks to a game of Wheel of Fortune. This update also allows players to unlock new multiplayer achievements, and dress their avatars in new Wheel of Fortune-themed clothes. Load time has been improved, as well as “improved frequency” of landing on bankrupt or lose a turn.
