Vaja intros Rasta case for 5G iPods

Vaja has introduced a new “Rasta” version of its i-Volution iVod case for the fifth-generation iPod. Like the original iVod, the $90 case is made from genuine Argentine leather and features built-in screen and click wheel protectors, a padded interior, and access to all controls and ports. Vaja says the new Rasta iVod case can be customized with more than 1000 color combinations.

Anyone else think this is kind of ridiculous? I wonder what Haile Selassie would think of this.

What are these cases like anyone? im kinda tempted to buy one, maybe not the rasta, but they look like they actually do a good job of proteting the iPod?

Are they Bulky?

Funny, I like Apple’s case better for a a couple of reasons: it’s much more minimalist and you get to feel and see the iPod itself when you are using it. Apple’s case may also provide better protection, but I’m not sure on that point.

Vaja’s cases are very nice, for those who like the look. They are also the better choice for those who like a play-through design (i.e., those who like to fiddle with their iPod a lot). But for those of us who like to pull out the iPod, start a playlist, and drop it back in our bags, Apple’s case is quite practical.

Of course, it goes without saying that $99 is way too much for Apple’s case, even though it would be very nice at, say, $39.
