Griffin debuts iClear for 5G iPods

Griffin Technology has announced the iClear for fifth-generation iPods. The hard-shell case, which was first available for the iPod nano, features a crystal clear design and provides access to all controls and ports. “iClear’s transparent and unobtrusive design protects the iPod with a tough, polycarbonate two-piece shell that is strong enough to take the daily abuse of active lifestyles. iClear delivers full screen protection without adding bulk or weight.” The new iClear case, priced at $20, works with both 30GB and 60GB iPod models.

One of the aspects of any iPod cover/protector you should always address is how well, if at all, any dock-based accessories fit with the cover in place. For instance, the new iTrip. Thanks for keeping us informed.

Since Griffin makes several other acessories that would be rendered usless by such a case, i.e. the new iTrip, it is in thier best intrest to manufacture some type of dock adaptor, *keeping fingers crossed*

I’d love to find a good, clear case that’ll allow me to insert my 5G 30 gig ipod into a doc connector. With all of the 3rd. part connection products (car adapters, stereo docks, portable systems, etc.) you’d think either a thinner case or a wider dock adapter would be mandatory. What’s the point of a case if I have to keep taking it out?

How do you remove this case once it’s attached without damaging the case or ipod?

Hey mylo, it’s pretty simple… stick a quarter in the bottom notch and twist. It might damage the plastic case, so you might want to wrap the quarter in electrical tape or something.
