Altec to ship inAir 5000 AirPlay speaker

Altec Lansing has announced that it will ship its inAir 5000 AirPlay Speaker later this month. Originally previewed at IFA last September, the inAir 5000 offers built-in Wi-Fi for AirPlay, dual 3-inch mid-range drivers, neodymium tweeters, and a 4-inch subwoofer, an included remote, an Ethernet port, a USB port for directly connecting an iPhone, iPad, or iPod, an auxiliary input, and a headphone port. Altec Lansing’s inAir 5000 AirPlay Speaker will sell for $500.
