Urban Apps has released a major update to its Ambiance “environment enhancer” app for iPhone and iPod touch devices. Ambiance 3.0 is a complete rewrite of the application to support iOS4 and the coming iPhone 4. New features include High Definition sound images to support the new Retina Display on the iPhone 4, background audio support to allow ambient sounds to continue playing while using other applications, multiple customized alarms and alarm themes and support for downloading Ambiance sound updates in the background on iOS 4. The rewritten version also includes a completely revamped user interface to provide easier navigation. Ambiance 3.0 is available from the App Store for $3 and is a free update for existing users.

It’s not coming up for me…either through your link, or by keyword searching it in the App Store…???

According to the developer’s site, they located an issue with the update that potentially wiped out customers sounds. They’ve located and fixed the issue and have submitted the revised app for expedited review by Apple. Hope this helps. I use this almost every work day, so I hope to see it back soon!

This new Ambiance upgrade is a total dog.
The previous version was quite intuitive. This new one “tested for ios4” feels like it was designed by Microsoft. The Alarm function is nowhere NEAR as simple as it was. If it isn’t broke, please don’t fix it seeing as I paid for it. Don’t change the frelling thing!
