and you think the stainless steel ones scratch easily? what a waste, anyways with a good case no one ever sees the back
this is for the people who wear blue tooth headsets as a fashion accessory

The thing I can’t quite grasp is that they’re charging double or more for adding maybe a dollar or two worth of gold.
You can buy an electroplating kit with 1 gallon of 24 karat plating solution for less than $300 and plate dozens of iPod backs if you really wanted to do this.
This may be the most insane iPod mod yet as it’s not just pointless, outrageous, and expensive, it is OBSCENELY overpriced.

Why would anyone order anything from a company that doesn’t write the Queen’s English correctly? “your prefer”? “prefered”?

Where do they get the black and white fronted 8GB nanos from? The first generation only came in 2GB and 4GB and the second generation only comes in annodized aluminum…

You are wrong. The first generation iPod nano came in 1gb too, just was released later than the 2gb and 4gb versions.

Great, now we can show off our gold iPods in public. I’m sure thieves will be impressed.

Geez, this is like the gold lettering kits that Toyota dealers use on Camrys. How utterly tasteful! All it needs are a few dozen Swarovski crystals…no wait, that’s Vaja’s thang…my bad.
Bling bling makes the world go ‘round…evidently...

I feel sorry for anyone who puts the cash in to buy one of these.

Why not just go all the way and put the gold across the face too!?

wow… people are so rude sometimes. the company makes the ipod for people who WANT THEM. if you don’t want them, back off. who cares… if someone has the money and wants a gold plated ipod, let them spend their money on what they want. the company isn’t making you buy it are they? and i don’t think some of the languaged that has been used (ehem. iScott) is appropriate.

Gold is so cheesy. Silver is way more stylish.

to SarahGoodman:
Thanks for pointing out my irrelevant mistake while avoiding the point of the question and thereby neatly adding nothing to the discussion
The point is that there are no 1st gen. 8GB nanos - so are they modding 1st gen. nanos ? replacing the case of 2nd gen. nanos with 1st gen cases ? It makes a difference for accessories and the functionality. Having said all that - it doesn’t really matter to me - I don’t have that much money to throw away - but it could be a consideration for those who do

... and to christopher:
Has iScott’s post been edited since your rant or do you just have a heightened ability to be offended?
