so when is the hPod coming out?
the fact that its not out yet makes me think that its release will correspond with the release of a 4th gen iPod.

why would they do that? they would just be screwing over HP… unless you mean that HP and Apple will offer the 4th gen iPod…??

They wouldn’t necessarily be screwing over HP. The 4th gen could possibly be a different enough configuration that there would be room on the market for both. More options for the consumer that way. For instance, if the 4th gen iPod comes in 20GB for $299, 40GB for 399, and 60GB for 499, then maybe the HPod would be 3rd gen iPod style, but priced 15GB $249 20GB 279 40GB 379 or something. They’d have to update the mini pricing too, but it sounds like that will happen anyway. Just my 2 cents.

I actualy ment that the hPod has not come out because it will be based on a 4th gen iPod design.
I mean how hard can it be to make a blue iPod, if the hPod was going to be based on the current 3gen iPod I think they would be out by now.
I really dont think they would bring out a 4th gen Apple iPod and stick the hPod with the 3gen design, it would be a waste.
Having both the iPod and hPod based on the same design, with the only diffrence being a blue or white case, gives apple a larger manufacuring scale, increasing efficiency, loweing prices for all of us.
So if the hPod is suppose to come out soon, then I think we can see 4th gen iPods by next month, coinciding with the AirPort release and a large european iPod push.

I agree with saycheese, Apple releases the 4 gen and the hPod are just blue 3g’s at lower prices. I think it would work for both parties.. Apple remains on the cutting edge without dilluting their product, and HP picks up the value market.
