Animated iPod ad
Catch a glimpse of the new animated iPod ad at Apple.com. The QuickTime download page features an animated version of the online/print ads featuring color bursts, iPod and black silhouettes.

Great idea, great for animating photos insted of just fading betwen them.
Now apple should do a quicktime movie of how they do these adds using apple hardware and software.

Macromedia Flash wasn’t used. They use Quicktime for all their spiffy animations.

Uh, the point is that Flash would’ve been a preferable tool for a simple animation such as this.
But I digress; in the Jobs Reality Distortion Field Quicktime can do everything Flash can do, better.

This is a TV ad. Like all other Apple TV ads it is presented in Quicktime. It doesn’t relate to the method of the ads production. The ad is not intended for use primarily on the website. Yes it is simple Vector animation in style (plus the sillhouettes’ shadows), but so is two colour screen printing. You’re confusing a visual style with the currently available (web-focused) production tools.

I don’t belived this is an animation I think the way they created this ad is creating a high contrast image from the dancers and them place them on top of the flat color they want to used. i you see there are high reflections in the snikers the belt the chain and some other parts they have great detail on them. I think it will be cheaper and easeier to create it this way than animated.
Just my input.

lol, I just downloaded it off KaZaA lite ~ 150KB/s. The best thing, I am 99 cents richer, which is in fact around $1.40 out here in Australia.
