Apple announces special music event with U2
MacMinute reports that Apple has sent out an invitation to select media announcing a special event to be held next week at San Jose’s California Theater. The event appears to be music related as the invite reads: “Steve Jobs, Bono and The Edge invite you to a special event.” Bono and The Edge are of course members of the popular rock band U2, who are featured in Apple’s latest iPod+iTunes commercial performing their new single “Vertigo.” The song is also available exclusively through Apple’s iTunes Music Store. During Apple’s fourth quarter conference call last week, CFO Peter Oppenheimer said that Apple and U2 would be working together more “in the coming weeks.”

I bet Apple is going to sponsor U2’s next tour. In a perfect world, I’d reallyreallyreally love to see a U2 jampack for Garageband—how cool would that be?

I predict some of the following:
* New EU store
* 60 GB iPod (photos? iPhoto update?)
* Updated Mini (more GB? less with flash? new colors?)
* U2 edition iPod (engraved back, included songs)
* Stats like an updated song-count to counter MS “matching” Apple’s million-song library
* Updated iTunes (and for Linux maybe?)
* Software update for 4G/Mini iPods
* New U2 album created entirely in GarageBand and recorded on an iBook’s internal mic

U2 To Tour in ‘05.
U2 manager Paul McGuinness today confirmed that the band will set out on a major tour next year but urged the band’s fans not to part with any money for concert tickets until the tour details are confirmed.
An announcement is expected in the coming.
“We are still very much in the planning stages of our tour for next year which will visit the US, Canada, Europe, Japan and Australia, and the band is really looking forward to getting out on the road.”

‘‘whats with the black fetish? i think white makes it look better’’
Well then lucky for you there are 4 generations of iPods for you to choose from. Surprisingly some people actually have a differing opinion than you.
Imagine that…..

I think those who’d want a black iPod are in a minority. And for those who do, you can buy cases, or if you really want it to look like it was black from the factory, you can get it colored.
