Apple drops 5G iPod prices in UK
Several iLoungers note that Apple has cut prices on its fifth-generation iPod models in the UK. Apple has lowered the price of the 30GB iPod to £179 (from £189) and dropped the price of the 80GB iPod to £239 (from £259). UK iPod nano and iPod shuffle pricing remains the same. The US Apple Store does not currently show any iPod price cuts—fifth-generation models are still priced at $249 for the 30GB version and $349 for the 80GB version.

Here in Spain the 30 gb has also dropped from 279 to 259 euros, which is terribly annoying for me because I bought one the day before!!

I’m glad they lowered the price, but on Amazon.co.uk, they are still cheaper:
30GB - £160 - A saving of £17
80GB - £226 - A saving of £13

if apple has reduced the price then it’s a sign that a new ipod is coming its way…

In the US the iPod Nano 8gb and Video 30gb is the same price. In UK and other countries it’s about 10€ difference. So maybe the should reduce the price even more.

I don’t like that.
If Apple is really releasing a new iPod anytime soon (or even just the iPhone in June), lowering prices to get people to buy them is not cool.
Then again, the iPhone isn’t schedueled for Europe for a while…

Just fixing the price gap between them and online places such as amazon, amazon prices have always been much lower than the apple shop. If only the same price differences were available for the macbook! Usual overpriced UK prices…..Now if they only provided a valid video service for Uk Itunes then that would increase sales but all we have are some music videos.

The annoying/entertaining about Apple is the way they sometimes suddenly announce new products without any warning. My 4g iPod died the other night and so I need a new one. But MacRumors suggests not buying an iPod right now since it’s been a long time since 5.5. I know that if I buy one the magical 6g will come out in a week. But if I wait..? Grrr.
