Apple iPod Updater 1.3 Released
The update command downloads new software to an iPod. The update command may be disabled if the iPod does not need to be updated because it already has up-to-date software. The restore command returns an iPod to ‘factory fresh’ condition. It erases and reformats the iPod before downloading new software. WARNING: The restore command erases all of the music and other data currently on the iPod.
Note: iPod Software for Windows will be available in early May.
What’s new in this version:
provides iTunes 4 support, including playback of AAC encoded audio files (Mac-only). Additional enhancements include audio playback and user interface improvements, increased playback time on scroll-wheel iPods, and longer stand-by time for all iPods.
Requirements: Mac OS X 10.1.2 or higher
Only compatible with touch-wheel and scroll-wheel iPods without a dock connector.

I’m very excited about the new software update out there for our “old” iPods.
I was very curious if anyone knew if the 1.3 update includes the new games and the “on the go” playlist generation. The apple site makes no mention of it.

i downloaded it to day and the only new noticable feature was the backlite button on the main menu

Below is from our very own iPodlounge’s homepage:
“Give Apple iPod Feedback
Are you upset that Apple did not include support for note reader, two new games, On-the-Go playlists, customizable menu and sleep timer in iPod Software 1.3 for older iPods? Send them a peice of your mind as we have on the official iPod Feedback page at Apple.com.”
So I am assuming that, as of right now, there is no support for “On the go” playlist for the “old” iPods.
