Apple promotes iPod nano on MySpace
Apple has apparently made a deal with MySpace to promote its new second-generation iPod nano lineup on the large social networking site. Apple has created MySpace profile pages for the green nano, blue nano and pink nano, allowing members to add the nanos as “friends.” Each nano profile page features a music playlist, the nano TV commercial, a photo gallery, a free screensaver, desktop pictures, a MySpace site skin, and a link to buy the nanos at the online Apple Store. Each nano currently has over 4,000 friends. It appears Apple did not create pages for the black, silver or red nano.

Update: The profile pages appear to have been removed. No reason was given, though iLounge still believes the profile pages to be the work of Apple.
Update #2: The profile pages are back online.

A friend of mine at the local Apple store told me they had previously been blocking MySpace.com until somebody higher up instructed that access be granted because of all the advertising Apple has on the site.

They wouldn’t give the black nano it’s own page cause you know it would just put a bunch of emo postings on there.

Too bad they don’t have profiles for Black, Silver, and Red. Maybe they’ll make those later.
I think it would be funny if they made blogs for the iPod nanos.

the profiles are gone. they are available… but now those links belong to a bunch of posers. One of whom is a 43-year old man without so much as a customized myspace.
I’m ticked, cause my screensavers got deleted when i did a clean install. Gaaa!

They actually had all of the nanos at one point, except RED.
I have the silver nano layout on my page. Each nano had it’s own style of music. It was wonderful.
But I didn’t save the rest before they went away.
Cheers,
Jeremy.
