Apple retailer says mini iPod is true?
A recent AudioRevolution.com article states, “sources at an Apple retailer in Los Angeles tell AudioRevolution.com that the rumors of the new budget priced iPod are completely true. Apple has not made any official statements on the matter, as they tend to prefer to make their new product announcements public at MacWorld.”

It would be so cool for so many people…. I wonder if the Tv advertisement would feature Mini-me and the huge basketball player again. It would be a nice idea

There have been a lot of news articles claiming that they have official information about a new minipod…
Basically Apple resellers find out about new products when we do. They don’t get inside information or anything. The only people that know about what is going to be released on Jan 6th is Steve jobs, and obviously the staff that worked on the products. Anything we here is just pure speculation, which at times turns out to be partly true.

I know alot of pod owners hate the comparison but we can find an idea of a possible pricing model from creativelabs. for example they have a 1 gig flash memory player for $500, next they have a 1.5 gig cornice HD player for $229 and now a 4 gig HD player for $299 using the microdrive. I chose creative as my example because they are the number 1 budget mp3 player production company and if these are their prices the I expect any new minipods would be HD based and carry a price of atleast $149.

I think a cheaper ipod will sell by the bucket load because everyone wants an iPod but the cost is a major stumbling block for a lot of people. i think this a smart move on apples part and they know it
