MacMinute reports the iPod mini is #1 on the online Apple Store’s Top Sellers list followed by iTunes Gift Certificates, iLife ‘04, Keystation 49e USB Midi Keyboard,  15-inch PowerBook, Monster iCarPlay wireless FM transmitter for iPods, Mac OS X 10.3 Panther, iBook, iMac, and the dual 2GHz Power Mac G5.

it’s not too hard to imagine the iPod mini being the best-selling model in the iPod line at the moment.  Think about it: when you have 730,000 iPods sold between October and December, what’s the likelihood that you’re going to encounter a huge rush on the existing models in January?  Pretty small.

The iPod mini is, however, brand new and being released as far from Christmas as you can get.  That means that you aren’t going to see as many people holding off until the end of the year to buy.  The new model therefore takes 1st place.

anyone knoe wehn the new ipod mini is available to buy in the shops; is it available now? i know you can order over the phone, but when is the earliest date you can phyisically have 1 in your hand???? thanks

Hey Rob, if you really want one they are available Feb 16.  Check out, where you can preorder it now.  Right now you can even get your choice of programs that cost up to $100 for just 50 bucks.  No site has a better price than this, at least not that I know of.
