Apple to hold special event on Feb. 28
Apple has sent out an invitation to select media, including iLounge, to a special event that will be held at Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California on February 28th.
The invitation, which only features the iCal-like calendar image shown right, reads: “Come see some fun new products from Apple.” The special event begins at 9:00 a.m. at Apple Town Hall, Building 4.
iLounge has confirmed with Apple that this event will be taking place and is not a hoax like the email sent out last week purporting to be an Apple invitation to a special event on March 1st.

at this point, I wouldn’t put it past Apple to announce a new iPod - look at the length of time between the last G5 iMac and the Intel iMac announcement.

A new iPod would not surprise me.
Apple reserves the right to release new products and updates at their will.

Given that the image is from iCal, I’m guessing something mac-related, not iPod-related…

“Definitiely not an ipod. 5G is way to recent, I’d wait until august / september / november for any new major iPod news. This is of course excluding April 1st, which I still don’t know about.
Well - probably the boombox, a diff. price on the mini/new version, or maybe shuffle accessories since they’re selling more now…”
-and-
“April 1st is the day to speculate about. February 28 is probably an event to hype April 1st “
umm, yeah…theres no april 1st thing as clearly stated in the end of this article we all so expressively comment about…

OMG. i think it will be an intel based iBook. 5g is way too recent for them to come up with a new iPod. Apple, in the pda market, would be very interesting. I like the boombox idea too.

Intel Mac mini perhaps?
Some sort of iPod accessory, with the possibility of an updated shuffle.

The 4G went through some updates, so why not expect one for the 5G.
And there has to be something going on with iPods, or an invite for ilounge would seem a bit senceless…...
