Apple to hold special event on Feb. 28
Apple has sent out an invitation to select media, including iLounge, to a special event that will be held at Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California on February 28th.
The invitation, which only features the iCal-like calendar image shown right, reads: “Come see some fun new products from Apple.” The special event begins at 9:00 a.m. at Apple Town Hall, Building 4.
iLounge has confirmed with Apple that this event will be taking place and is not a hoax like the email sent out last week purporting to be an Apple invitation to a special event on March 1st.

Why would Apple invite iLounge if the event did not have something to do with the iPod? iLounge does not cover Macs.

Apple WILL release the BoomBox sometime in the future, so it might as well be the 28th, because i read in the iLounge news section A LONG TIME AGO that apple got the “copyrights” (i don’t know anything about TradeMarks or CopyRights so please don’t scream at mean) or whatever for iPod BoomBox. i’m pretty sure they got it so other people couldn’t use that name for their products......Plus since the 5G was just introduced they CERTAINLY aren’t going to replace it, they’ll spice it up, introduce new “gotta have it” accessories, and make it more desirable to 12-year-olds. Just my opinion.....

Well I agree that it would have to be something iPod-related since iLounge got an invite. The shuffle is due for a makeover, if any. I also have a hunch that a larger capacity Nano will be introduced since Sandisk is coming out with their 6GB players sometime towards the end of March. Apple loves coming out with better products than the competition right before they do. I’d buy an 8GB or 10GB Nano for $300…

6G, PDA, Intel, mmmmmm…
Let’s put it together!
The new MiniMedia Center!! like a MacMini with intel inside and TV receiver, and a touch screen PDA/remote with HD to take away and use as iPodVides, PDA or Phone, and use it as a remote at home, with the new MiniMedia Center!! Isn’t fun enough?

If apple makes it (be it an Ipod, iPDA etc etc,) the mass market of ipod followers will consider it. Apple have a HUGE market of Joe Average Consumers now.. not just the geeks here
