Apple will indeed unveil the fifth-generation iPad and second-generation iPad mini in time for this year’s holiday season, Bloomberg reports. As expected, the new iPad will feature a thinner body design and a thinner bezel, more closely resembling the iPad mini.
The next iPad mini will have a “high-resolution screen” — likely meaning a Retina display. According to the report, Apple won’t unveil the new iPads until after its new iPhone event, which is scheduled for September 10.
Some reports circulating online have suggested that the new iPads will debut in the last three months of 2013, however, Bloomberg’s article does not specifically mention that window or a release in October, November, or December.
