AT&T, Best Buy offer iPhone 4 details, black only at launch?
AT&T and Best Buy have revealed details of their plans for the iPhone 4’s launch. Best Buy will begin taking pre-orders for the device starting June 15, and will begin selling the phone on June 24, as will AT&T. The latter will be opening its stores at 7:00 a.m. to begin selling the phone, and employees will be sporting special new black shirts featuring a multi-color AT&T globe design on the front and the company’s “Rethink Possible” slogan on the back. New customers will be limited to one iPhone 4 per person in line, while existing customers will be able to purchase one iPhone 4 for each eligible line.
A separate report from Modmyi containing an internal AT&T memo claims that the iPhone 4 will be available exclusively in black at launch, with white models available “later this summer.” No reason is given for the delay, nor is there any indication as to whether this is an AT&T-only restriction or if some unforeseen production issue has caused Apple to push back the launch date of white units.

Noooooooo!!!! Please say it ain’t so!!! I really want the white one, but I don’t want to wait until “later this summer” (which usually mean late fall). I really hope the Apple stores will have the white one.

Please tell me that I’m not the only one who thinks Apple keeps coming up with the most retarded cases for these phones. Glass and shiny plastic?
Really? Consumers want shiny glass and plastic for their phones which double as entertainment devices and cameras?
There has GOT to be some backdoor conspiracy that Apple gets 50% of iPhone case sales….and at $25 a pop for crappy plastic cases - I’d bet my salary on it.

I’ve gotten a White iPhone every year since they became available. This year, I think I may go black. White is OK on the back of the device, but on the front?
