AudioOutfitters has announced the ezLink extension cord for iPod shuffle owners. The white cable connects to a standard USB 2.0 computer port and can be “routed to a more convenient spot, so you can plug your iPod shuffle into your computer quickly and easily,” according to the company. The ezLink shuffle is 4.5 feet in length and includes an ezclasp clip to secure it to your desktop, computer monitor, or other surface. It’s priced at $14.

A-freaking-stounding. So instead of using any off-the-shelf USB extension, people will shell out 14 bucks for one “designed for the iPod.”
P.T. Barnum was sooooo right. Here people, try this cable for $6. If you trust a private seller you can have it for 46 CENTS plus shipping.
We need to stop letting these companies rip us off for products that are colored white.

Thank you for your comments. We believe the ezLink Shuffle has benefits that these other products do not offer.
Please note, that the ezLink Shuffle is made with a high quality heavier cable than the ones you have mentioned, and comes with a complete plastic shielding around the female connector to reduce damage.
The ezLink Shuffle also comes with a removable desk clip to prevent the cable from falling behind the desk.
There are a number of lower quality solutions on the market. We believe that we needed to offer a higher quality product to meet the expectations of iPod users.
Thank you.

Sure there are cheaper cables…but then there are cheaper computers and music players too!

cheaper computers and music players is a different issue. the cable does nothing more than the cheaper cables. yes the clip is a feature. is it worth $15? no.
