Belkin announces TuneStage for iPod nano
Belkin has announced the TuneStage for iPod nano, a new version of its device that allows you to stream music from your iPod to your home stereo wirelessly via Bluetooth. The new TuneStage, which was first shown in iLounge’s Free iPod Book 2.0, consists of a transmitter that connects to the nano’s dock connector and a receiver wired to your system. The TuneStage for iPod nano can transmit from up to 33 feet away from your stereo, connects via RCA or 3.5mm outputs, and does not require direct line-of-sight for control. The new TuneStage will ship in July for $180.

So ... they want to pay $180 to have the convenience of having your nano’s music streamed to your stereo from “UP TO 33 ft away”. Why not wire directly to the stereo and spend $100 less on a two-way remote w/ display which works up to like 75’ away, rather than sapping your ipod’s battery for bluetooth from less distance?
Oh, also that’s ‘up to 33’ ft’ meaning, ideal conditions, direct line of sight, no obstructions, full battery, so practical range has to be about 15’....
Better yet, get Airtunes, get more range, better controls, save some money and take the iPod out of the equation entirely…
Who would buy this?

A remote with display? These exist?

Thanks Booger, but its $140, and with that tiny screen, I’m not sure how good a menu navigator it would be.
