Best Buy stores now selling iPod mini?

Reader Daniel W. F. notes that his local Best Buy store has already begun selling the iPod mini. “Just wanted to let you know that the Best Buy in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania already has the iPod mini on sale (I paid $249)... for those without an Apple Store within driving distance.” We’ve called a couple local Best Buy stores in Southern California and all have confirmed that they didn’t sell any iPod minis through its retail locations, but sold out of the iPod mini through its online store. Check with your local store for availability.

Yep.  They had a few today at a store near me.  It’s in the suburbs of St. Louis, but they had a few.

Yeah I got mine at the local CompUSA (Gwinette, GA) today.  If you want one and you are not near an Apple Store you better get out there early tomorrow.  And I was a skeptic but this baby is awesome!

I just bought mine at a Best Buy in San Jose, woohoo!

They had two silvers left when i got there. Now I have to decide whether to keep my silver one, or wait til 6pm tomorrow and get a blue or green one from the Apple store. Life is tough =P

I bought mine on Wednesday Feb. 18. I went over to Best Buy to kill some time and let traffic lighten up. I then went to the Ipod section and saw 6 silver minis! I was excited and bought it on the spot. The salesperson that helped me said they just put it out 5-10 minutes before I saw it and I was the first to buy one! This little ipod rocks! I’m glad I bought the mini over the 15gb. The mini looks good and people have already drooled over it!

I called both of my local Best Buy stores and they said that the iPod mini’s were at the stores but then they took them back in because Apple is post-poning the sell date to the end of March. Maybe to lower the price..?..

Went to best buy in Harrisburg PA last night, and they weren’t on the shelves.

I’m going to go back over in about an hour and ask the salespeople this time.

I bought one a couple of hours ago from Best Buy on Richmond St in Houston. They only had 2 silver minis in stock when I arrived. I bought one, and someone else bought the last one right after me. So, if you are in Houston, I suggest you head to the Apple store in the galleria or to Microcenter to find your iPod Mini.

Just got back from Best Buy in Harrisburg.  The mini was on the shelf, but the clerk said it couldn’t be sold until tomorrow, or else the store gets a $4000 fine from Apple.

Got my silver mini this morning at Best Buy Fort Lauderdale.  Already put it thru a workout. It passed the skipping ropw test. Was never able to skip rope or jog with my 10gig iPod.  Lovin’ it so far.

I’m in the Seattle area.  My local Best Buy has the silver minis in stock.  He told me they were only going to carry the silver color.  Can anyone else verify this?

Went to the Best Buy on Bell (in Phoenix, AZ). They didn’t have them in the display cabinet. I asked a sales person if they had them, he went to the back and got me a silver one. So if you don’t see them, ask!!

According to the guy at my BestBuy, he said they had all 5 colors in stock.  I think he said one of each, except 2 of silver.

I’m going to head over after work today and see if I can get a different employee to sell it to me.
