Best Buy to offer free iPhone 3GS December 10th

Best Buy is planning to run a special one-day promotion in which it will offer the 8GB iPhone 3GS for free on contract, according to a new report. Citing a Best Buy “ninja,” Boy Genius Report claims that the promotion will run tomorrow, Friday December 10th, and will be valid for new lines, additional lines, and qualified upgrades. According to the report, all stores have adequate inventory levels to support the promotion, and that the discount will be applied as an instant rebate. This would mark the second time this month that one of Apple’s retail partners has offered a discount on iPhones, as Radio Shack is currently running a $50 off promotion on all iPhone models.

That’s a great deal, provided it doesn’t have any 4.x.x version of iOS on it.

Why wouldn’t you want 4.x.x iOS on it? I know 4.1.x dragged the original 3G down horribly, but my wifes 3GS has been running just fine on 4.1 and now 4.2.

Nice to see that stores are putting discounts on iPhones now. RadioShack put a $50 discount on iPhone 4 and 3GS’s but my local RadioShacks don’t have any iPhone 4 32 GB’s in stock. :( The promotion ends on Saturday and if they don’t get any in by then, I’ll have to buy it for full price. :( $50 is alot…...

This was a great offer. I saw the post last night, sent it to a few friends and my folks. All came out of store with brand new phone, for FREE.
