Box.net has released an update to its universal iOS application adding security and single sign-on enhancements. The Box.net app is a client application for the company’s online file storage service of the same name providing users with the ability to access, view, share and print files from their devices while on the go. The latest version adds support for encrypting individual files to help keep content secure in the event the user’s device is lost or stolen and also improves the process for logging into Box.net via single sign-on from Okta, Ping, Google, OneLogin, Simplified, VMware Horizon and others. The update also fixes problems related to audio and video playback and previewing files. Box.net is a universal app and is available from the App Store as a free download. A Box.net subscription is required to use the app; users can sign up for a 5GB personal account for free with additional storage available on paid plans.
