Battery Technology, Inc. (BTI) has announced the availability of its Tunestir II and new Video iPod Battery. Both products are now in stores and shipping to customers.
The Tunestir II combines an FM radio transmitter, an FM radio receiver and an inline remote control with cord management. “The Tunestir II not only allows users to program into memory up to 15 FM stations that they can transmit their iPod tunes to, but it also allows users to program into memory their 15 favorite FM stations that they want to listen to directly,” says BTI. The Tunestir II works with all dockable iPods.
BTi’s Video iPod Battery is a high-capacity rechargeable battery pack for fifth-generation iPods. It offers up to 40 hours of music playtime and 10 hours of video playtime per charge. The Video iPod Battery comes with a detachable belt clip that can expand into a cradle/stand for the iPod. The battery pack is also compatible with 3G and 4G iPods.

BTI really needs to update their website. There’s nothing on the current iPod accessories. Only stuff for the mini and 4G iPods.

Found a website that has the battery at ib2cool (dot) com with a coupon code “podcast” for $20 off the $79.99 USD price & free shipping (UPS Ground) on orders over $50. Information on the product states that you get:
- 2 protective skins
- cradle
- stand
- AC adapter
- Belt clip
One picture at another website shows the iPod with the skin on while sitting in the battery. May have been the 30GB model though.

what’s the difference between this new battery and the older BTI battery? I purchased the older one for $35 last year in Radio Shack and have been using it with the 5G iPod with good results. I have never actually timed it but it lasts for my 1 week trip plus 10+ hr flights.
