Good article and seems right on regarding where the iPod market is going. It has had a great head start but the sale of legal digital music and MP3 players is in the early stages of the boom and for the first time Apple will have competition.
It is still the cream of the crop but rivals will force them to innovate and be consumer friendly.
Competition is good for everyone, especially the ones forking over the cash for one of these devices.

I just hope Apple doesn’t bollux this up like they did with computers. Proprietary, closed hardware and file formats, “Choice be damned we’ll tell you what you want.” They better have learned last time that you can’t continually badger the consumer into paying more margin just ‘cause it looks cool. I’m tired of defending their business decisions to my WinLoser friends while they continue to piss away market share and any lead they had.
