sounds a little anti-apple to me. What do you mean no future with powermacs or any apple computer.  Apple will not just stay alive with a damn MP3 player!!!

How many mid to large corporations out there utilize nothing but MAC servers, MAC workstations, and so forth?  How many leading business related softwares out there would work with MAC OS?  Would system adminstrators in mid to large corporations today switch their current environment to MAC OS instead of Linux and/or other favor of Unix?  How many essential business hardwares currently available work with MAC OS?

All and all, it would be a long shot for MAC to gain popluarity in business world instead of just a few casual computer users.  Apple has to rethink it’s strategies to be able to become player in the mainstream.  It has to re-write it’s policy to allows more 3rd party developers to build or write stuffs for MAC.  Heck, it needs to make MAC works with more stuffs than now.  It needs to revolutionize the industry with something useful and legit instead of releasing statements such as “MAC OS NEVER CRASH” (Really?!) or “Gx IS THE FASTEST COMPUTER ON EARTH!” (Jury is still out on this one).

iPOD on the other hand is indeed the best effort by Apple for ages.  It works just like any other MP3 players.  It can store as much data as most other HD based MP3 player.  However, Apple managed to integrate STYLE into this little thing.  That’s the reason why it wons the hearts of many including non-MAC users like myself.  As for other products from MAC, I always wonder how successful Apple would be today if people can load Windows into iMAC instead of MAC OS.  At the very least I can say you can find a couple of them in my house!

You can load windows onto mac. It’s called Virtual PC.

As for the piece I think the guy lost sight of the fact that Apple are a computer company, which is what has kept them in the game, low market share but high margins and still we keep coming back for more.  The iPod is great but so is my iBook and the iPod needs it to be any use.  I can see where he’s coming from with it and hell I hope it happens sell iPods to them windows folks.

oh and mac OS does crash but not very often and the G5 is the fastest desktop personal computer. The gripe with Apple is that they never seem to let the reader/viewer know the benefits of buying their machines in their tv adverts.

Is that the best “defense” you can give?  LOL!  Maybe I am indeed a fool, it’s up to you to PROVE IT!

For Andrew, someone told me about Virtual PC before.  The same person also told me thtat not all of the window based program will work with it.  At least for me, that’s a really bad thing.
