Case-mate has introduced its new Patriot Line of cases for the fifth-generation iPod and iPod nano. Available in stars and stripes or camouflage, the form-fit leather cases feature an inner plastic shell, a removable belt clip, screen and click wheel protectors, and a microfiber cleaning cloth. “No matter which style you choose, you’ll be supporting our troops while protecting your music,” explains Case-mate. “Whether it’s an iPod or nano case you take home, a portion of the proceeds from the Patriot Line goes directly to the United Service Organizations (USO) which serves military personnel serving around the world.”

Cool, as long as “supporting the troops” isn’t conflated with “supporting the war.”

Do you really think that any service member cares what type of case you have on your ipod?
As a vetran, I can tell you that I don’t give a crap.
If you like the case, buy it - I hope you’re happy with it, but don’t tell yourself that it’s supporting anyone.

Cool.
This might come in handy if you’re in a fox hole pointing a bead at someone’s skull. You could have your camouflaged iPod next to you without giving away your position.

Wow, how about next time, some of you guys read the article? It’s not the case itself that’s “supporting” the troops, Case-Mate is donating a portion of the proceeds raised from SELLING these cases to the USO (United Service Organizations)

Yes. The USO is a good organization. If you really want to support the troops, donating to them directly would be a good way - Personally, when they just say ‘a portion’ of the purchase will go to the cause, It smells fishey to me. It might be .01% of the profit - who knows.
Anyway, if you REALLY want to support our troops, the best way I can think of is to vote Democrat in November.
