Celebs, designers create iPod cases for charity
Designer Marc Ecko is partnering with celebrities and fashion industry leaders to launch “Style & Sound, a fundraising initiative for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer (FTBC). To help raise money, an online charity auction will be held next month featuring custom iPod cases created by celebrity partnerships, including Carolina Herrera with Renée Zellweger, Marc Ecko with Jamie Foxx, Luca Luca’s Luca Orlandi with Mischa Barton, and Judith Leiber with Katie Holmes.
“Some designers have taken the extra step to personalize their products even more,” reports Fashion Week Daily. “Donna Karan’s case, fashioned out of hammered brass, features a playlist with music from 20 years of her fashion shows, and Sean Combs will create his own playlist under his P.Diddy name. In addition, Nanette Lepore’s design features a brightly beaded and belted case, while Vivienne Tam’s is brocade, trimmed in fur. Each case will contain a 40GB iPod, courtesy of Apple Computer, and a playlist created by each designer’s celebrity partner.”
In addition, Ecko and Monster Cable will introduce an iPod case as part of “A Case For A Cause” (shown right). The blue leather case, which will be sold at Apple Stores for $29.99, features FTBC’s signature bulls-eye logo and will be packaged with literature on breast cancer awareness.
