Clarion to debut car audio products with iPod integration

pic Clarion today announced that it will unveil a fully integrated iPod solution for its new VRX755VD in-dash DVD player/monitor at the 2005 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The VRX755VD will feature a touch-screen, seven-inch monitor that can display playlist, song and artist information, a clock and any engaged sound enhancement features. The VRX755VD is expected to ship in February 2005. Clarion said that it will also be showcasing a new CD receiver solution for the iPod at the event. Scheduled for a mid-2005 launch, the iPod interface will be compatible with Clarion’s CeNET-equipped source units (includes CD receivers and in-dash DVD players with monitors).

sounds like it is another outrageously priced accessory for the ipod which in turn probably will cost more than the ipod itself.

“sounds like it is another outrageously priced accessory for the ipod which in turn probably will cost more than the ipod itself.”

what a stupid comment. first of all this isnt an accessory for the ipod, its an accessory for clarion. and if i can have the same interface of the photo ipod on a 7” motorized touch screen in my car, it would be great.

why dont you read the entire story and think before you make such a stupid comment bargo.

I have a clarion headunit, its really good. I’d say that Alpine is probably just as good as Clarion. Only thing I wish I could get was something to hook up my ipod through CeNet. Maybe that will be coming out soon too.
