Contour Design has announced two new hard cases for 20GB and 30GB fourth-generation iPods. The cases are expected to start shipping on October 26th. Pricing information was not available.
Showcase Sport ($32.95)
The new Showcase Sport builds on the design of the original Showcase hard case. It features a new, secure sliding latch, smoother shock absorbing rubber, and a streamlined design to offer “superior protection and looks.”
ToughShell ($21.95)
The Contour ToughShell is made of a lightweight transparent material that “complements its sleek and streamlined design without compromising a hard case’s ultimate protection.” It also sports a snap-tight latch.

The improvements sound good.
Are these cases just for the 20gb and 30gb?

The Countour cases are great (flimsy belt clip aside) so I hope there’s a 60 gig colour iPod version on the way

Do you know if the new Showcase Sport will have clickwheel protection? I can’t tell from the image if it’s just another hole again or if Contour has finally fixed that issue.

Mine old Showcase latch just broke off, so if Apple doesn’t announce an iPod video tomorrow :( I’ll upgrade to this.
That case took quite a beating. The new latch looks like a welcome feature.

These cases are designed to fit the 30 GB iPod with color display perfectly, so they are very slim! They also fit the older 30 GB iPod photo and 20 GB click-wheel iPod. They are now up on http://www.contourcase.com.

Mike Jackle’s post doesn’t make sense…
He says that they fit the 30GB iPod with color AND the older 30GB iPod photo… aren’t they the same?
