Contour Design has announced the release of its new Showcase for iPhone, a case that offers two-layer protection for the iPhone thanks to a combination of shock-absorbing rubber and clear polycarbonate. Features include a hinged door, full access to the iPhone’s touch screen, sensors, camera, and ports, and an included low-profile holster that can hold the Showcase forward or backward in both vertical and horizontal positions.
“The Showcase is our flagship case, and we wanted it to perfectly complement the iPhone,” said Mike Jackle of Contour Design. “This Showcase, like all others in this product line, uses the dual layers of rubber and polycarbonate to perfectly contour to the phone. We met our goal with a case that is strong and stylish.” The Contour Design Showcase for iPhone is available now and sells for $35.

Oh, I love this case! But $10.00 extra for the belt holder!? (At least, according to the website). I wonder if the iSee belt clip will work with this?

Update: If you purchase the case alone you pay for shipping, but if you purchase it with the belt clip you get free shipping. For me this works pretty well because it’ll cost $7.38 to ship just the case alone, so I might as well spring for the clip. Depending on where you live, this might be a good deal.

Update #2: Adding the Showcase to the cart along with the belt clip adds the shipping charge. It seems they add a shipping charge for EACH ITEM in your cart. The belt clip ships for free, but the Showcase adds a shipping charge!! I will try to contact Contour tommorrow to clarify, but if I am correct, even though both items are ordered together, they still add a shipping charge to the case. Maybe the case and the clip are shipped separately. I would think they would be shipped together though.

Looks like a nice case. I’ve always thought the showcase line was the best case line out there.

It really does look nice! I currentlly have Contour iSee which is the clear all plastic case. I recently dropped it with my iPhone loaded in the case, and it did it’s job protecting the iPhone but it has a small crack in it now. I will be getting a Showcase soon. It’s a gorgeous case and with the rubber around it, I won’t panic if I accidently drop the phone again.

So I’m guessing this case will soon be sold at the Apple stores since the iSee is sold there?
It does look good…actually waiting for the UPS truck this morning…ordered the Power Support Crystal Jacket case. Been looking forward to this one. We’ll see…

I just ordered this case. I’ve had good experiences with their cases in the past. Ive now bought 3 cases for this phone in search of something I like for my iPhone.

How thick is the case? The same as the iSee?
I’ve enjoyed the iSee, and may upgrade to this, but the iSee practically DOUBLES the thickness of the iPhone. Which is kinda painful for such a sleek device.
